Woo Hoo! The timing couldn't be better. I'm leaving out of town tonight & will be back Thurs night or Fri morning, so I should have a wonderful surprise waiting for me when I get back. Now, I just have to convince the Mrs. that this is not another "recent" purchase, but something that has been paid for quite some time ago (Probably a purse & several pairs of shoes on her end, later).

Thank you again & to the anonymous donor of the stag.

I'll vouch for ya CL01. :D

You did pay for it a long, long time ago. ;)

That's funny! I was thinking the same thing. "What had happened was...."
:D

Mine was at the PO today. This is a beauty little knife!! This is going to be a rugged little tank of a user with the D-2 steel. I really like the Clip blade shape, the swedges and the Wharncliffe is just a great extra blade. I really like the longer secondary blade in this pattern. The action is great on this particular knife, and the long pull helps on a blade with half stops I think. The springs are not flush in the 1/2 stop position on mine but I don't see how that hurts the runnin of it none.:D
I do like the satin blade finish, but the Stag & the bolster stamping really makes this knife classy. The Stag is well matched with nice texture/figure. I'm sure the Stag for 100 knives set the donor back a little bit. And I really appreciate it, it makes this knife IMO.

Here is a couple pics of the stamps Gus was talking about. The current Queen stamp for a D-2 blade knife. And not only is this the 1st Queen knife that I know of with the S/M--D-2 tang stamp combination. But I'm pretty darn sure this is the 1st knife Queen has put out in D-2 steel with a S&M stamp!

Here is the stamp Queen normally puts on a Schatt.

Mine arrived today and I couldn't be more delighted. The stag is well matched, beautifully figured, and fit really well to the knife. Whoever hafted this knew what they were doing.

I love having two long blades on a barlow. I also really like the width of the clip blade--very traditional, and having a wharncliffe (my favorite type of blade) is just the icing on the cake. Not one, but TWO long pulls make this knife special.

This is also the sharpest D2 I've ever had from Queen. I cut up a bunch of cardboard tonight, and it did OK out of the box. Of course tomorrow both blades will be screaming sharp.

Braggin' rights on this one, for sure. :D

Thank you Gus, STeven and anonymous stag donor. You each outdid yourselves.

A nice package arrived today from Bastidville. :D

One quick shot for now. . . .

Need to clean them up. Get goat hair and goat fingerprints off. :p

BIG thanks to Steven and Gus for their sustained efforts in making this s@#t happen. Very nice, I think.

:D

My wife is the total opposite. She has been reminding me for the last 5 months that I had been had. "Yeah, CJ you were ripped off! I do not know why you still get on that God forsaken Blade Forums"......

I knew better, no doubt that things would be ok. Too many know Gus, it would be fine, just a wait. Life is good. Not like I do not have something to cut with.

When Gus posted that shipping was commencing, I smirked and started to open my big mouth to my beloved, but I stopped. I waited for the knife to arrive, so she could look at me with that, you bought another knife look, which she did, but I said, "Look, see, "the rip me off knife." To add a little fun, I asked my step daughter Carlie if she knew what MMIX meant, ( I quizzed her on roman numerals just last week). She replied, "2009!" all proud. I gave my best grin to my wife, and said, "Very good Carlie, you are so smart." I got some patronizing miles out of that one. Sweetness all around.:cool::D

Guys and gals,

I know I have frustrated a few folks here, first with the delays in getting the knife made (although I can not take blame for that and neither can Steven) and in my challenge to get them out while down physically over the last few months.

I really do not have words to express the patience and trust you folks had in me during this entire mess.

PT is going well, I am starting to get my balance back and am able to walk for 10 to 15 minutes each day. Life is good, it will even be better when I get in line at the P.O. for the non-conus shipments. :D.

I started carrying my forum knife last week. I hope everyone will be as pleased with them as I am. It is the best knife I have from Queen and S&M. They really went the extra mile in producing these. The few people I have talked to that have them seem to feel the same way.

Gus I don't have the words to thank you and STeven for all your efforts on our behalf. I have no doubt that the '09 BF knife will go down as the best so far.

I look forward to getting mine from you personally in Atlanta in a month's time.

All the best there bud.......:)

Wow. I was never a big fan of Barlows, but I sure am now! (always loved stag though)
These are really sweet & now I cry myself to sleep because I don't have one. :)
If anyone has an extra one they could part with to end my pain & misery, shoot me an email.
I have the ring opener forum knife (unused, NIB) I could part with (if interested) or cash.

I guess you might find someone who wants to sell theirs but I'll tell you. This knife is not only beautiful but it is a "Work Horse". This is one tough knife, it has all the amenities, and I know I just could not part with mine. This has been in my pocket since the moment it hit my doorstep. Maybe there is an extra one around I'm not sure. Good luck.

I wish to thank you and Steve.

All that is important is you take your time to get better

He said PT. :D:D:D:o

Gus,

Your character along with a plethera of other forumites, is what makes this place so special. Honor, chivalry, bravery, generosity, and down right jockularity are still operating in an old school functionality. There is no other place I would want to hang out in cyberocity other than BF. Take a bow sir. Wait, check with the PT coach first.:foot::o

Ditto, I've handled many Boker and other brand Barlows, and have never been impressed with their chunkiness, inelegant lines, and harsh edges. Sentimental value aside, this is a really great knife with excellent fit, finish, and superb stag. The stag is better than my stag GECs, which is miles above Case. Mine looks good enough to go on a custom. I really like this knife, and more than other knives I've handled, pictures don't do this one justice.

Mick, I wish I had a second for you, I only bought 1.

Heck Gus, if it wasn't for you and Steven we wouldn't have had a chance to get a knife like this one.
As everyone else has said, Thank you.
