Bummer!
I'm here, Stacy's work is indeed humbling, we forged until almost curfew (yes, there is a curfew this year)
wish you could make it

ps good to meet ya Sam :)

Was very good to meet you too Garey, as well as everyone else. Cannot wait to see your photos Gary!

I hope everyone made it home OK.

I'm finally home, Stacy has another 3 hour drive. Glad to see ya'll and meet the ones that didn't make it last year!

Like I say, I'll start another thread with all the images from the weekend, not a ton but a few to share.
Here's one that maybe Mr Spangles can elaborate on, as you can see Matthew Gregory aka Mr Purple,
want's nothing to do with the transaction between Mr Spangles and Mace...
(by the way, Mike's name tag was spelled as Spangles, we all enjoyed that a bit)

Here is a link to the photos I placed in the Community area, also to spark some
interest from the rest of the knife world as well as the bladesmiths here;

Didn't get everyone in, but was glad to finally meet a lot of you that I only knew
via the internet, hope to see you guys again next year or sooner,

Great time, great demos, awesome food! I almost had enough to eat this weekend!;)

The camaraderie is without question the best thing that occurs at these shows, and is the only thing that could possibly overshadow the hegemony of ideas and information that an event like this generates - all of the presenters are top-notch, and the freedom and willingness to share observations, experience and processes inspires me.
It was great seeing everyone this year, but there were a few obvious 'missing persons' that the show was lesser for - for me, at least! Karl Andersen, Rick Barrett, Deker, and especially Derrick Wulf - it ain't the same without ya, man!:)
It was great to meet you, Gary... I look forward to exchanging thoughts with you again. I'll be sure to let you know when the bloodletting begins, assuming I'm in any shape to contact you!:D

...looks like a good thing I wore my hat most of the weekend... kind of appears that I have a dead woodchuck stuck to my dome!:D:D

Definitely Matt, excellent weekend in all, would give about anyone the urge to start forging!

I think that it will be the year of the Sword again in 2010 as they started that in 2000
and did another in 2005 which I missed :( my travels takes me out of the country too much
and I missed last year as well, hopefully I can be there next year.
and yeah, we'll see how that shaving thing goes, got to clean up this razor and
set the edge, sharpen it and go buy some nerve, maybe a lot of nerve ;)

Thank you for photos, Gary. It is nice to get a glimpse at a great bladesmithing shindig.

Gary, I really like your pictures.

We got back from vacation yesterday and I've finally got some of mine uploaded. No
captions or descriptions yet. Everyone who was there should feel free to add them as
comments.
