I am not carrying a dedicated fire kit today since I don't have enough pockets (in jeans ).

Since starting fires is fun I wanted to play too.:)

My 'bare minimum' survival set-up.

100_1148.jpg

My fire stuff is my EDC knife, a LMF Scout, two slivers of fatwood, and two small lengths of jute twine.

I only wanted to make a small one so I just gathered a handfull of fuel. And set up a small clear spot.

100_1150.jpg

Prepped my jute, some fatwood curls, pine needles and small twigs.

100_1151.jpg

After way too many strikes :o on the ferro rod my jute took a spark.

100_1152.jpg

Fed it some more..

100_1153.jpg

Used up the rest of my fuel, and let it burn out.

Hey Bushy,

Where did you get that cool leather pouch?

bought it locally in vancouver BC from a outfitters that traded for it. They dont carry them, it was a one time thing private deal....

How did you make the dried napalm fire goo?

I kept stuffing Styrofoam into about a half a cup of gasoline until it was the consistency of bread dough then I rolled it flat and once a day or so I flipped it over and flattened it again until is was stiff. Then I broke it up into small pieces and let it dry out.

Now that ROckS !! How do you go about lighting it ?? Does it take a spark easily, from your firesteel ??
