Fire kits.

Is that a Howard Hill I see there? And what of the arrows? I feel like a tool for using carbon with my Big Five.

All made by me. The bow is hickory backed Osage 72" long around 45# at 28" The arrows are self nocked cedar I spend a lot of time precision matching shafts.

Nearly a complete survival kit.

Nice kit. What a great looking belt! Would like to try a tack job on mine but I can't seem to bend the shanks just right consistently. Nice fire kit.

You guys are squared away with your fire kits. I have a fero rod and a mag block, but have never made an actual kit. There's something nostalgic about these fire kits. Seeing them makes me think of...quieter times.

Thanks for posting.

Yes, pre-char it. It is near impossible to spark lite the tight cotton until it is charred.

I'm gonna have to something other then the dollar store mops.. It wasn't cotton.. Lit up rather violently, when I went to pre char it...lol Glad I was outside , and not on my back porch whe I lit it.. My beloved would not have been happy... Would've gotten a crash course in a new skill...lol:D

Dang. I was hoping for a pic with the kit complete with cat loaded into the pouch. Good looking kit:thumbup: I'd post mine, but you all know what a mini-bic and a tube of neosporin looks like.

Trust me !! She actually tried to get in the pouch(LITERALLY) !! Had her head in just about over her eyes.... There are days when she has "issues" and tries to fit herself into insane small spaces...lol Came home one day and the fool was wedged between my sweety's pc and desk... Yes quite stuck ...lol

THe napalm with styrofoam is a good idea, we used to do that as kids until we found out melting the styrofoam and breathing the by product is really bad for you. Mixing Vaseline with gas woks too for actual napalm but you could just go buy cans of sterno at 60 cents a can and about 3 hour burn time you cant beat it. You can scoop it out or burn it in the can and use it to cook over. The tuff is awsome I keep multiple cans in every bag or kit I have because of how great it is.
