First "high end" knife

I don't think your going to get a High-End knife for $100.

Big Mike

"High End" is a relative term Mike.

BeardTamer you make a good move getting a Sage II. Congrats mate! You'll love it! Don't be afraid to put it to some good use. When I got my first "high end" knife I was reluctant to use it and I just wanted to keep it nice and NIB. Don't do that! hehe

Here's a prety good deal on a ParaMilitary2 at Amazon
They're temporarily out of stock, but will ship when available. If your willing to wait.

Well, let me justify my description of it as being huge for a 3" bladed knife. Here are some quick and dirty pictures of it next to a Benchmade 707 with approximately the same blade length:

You sir, shall take the prize of most helpful.

Beardtamer...

I'm kinda new here, ok?

However, I own some pretty nice (cool, I think) knives.

I believe my favorites (that I own) are a HTM "Gunfighter" and a ZT 0300...having said this...

I really, really like a SOG Vulcan (about $110.00 NIB), VG-10 steel, axis lock-up, very smooth flipper. I own much more expensive knives, yet choose to edc this knife quite often. Lots of folks will knock SOG, and sometimes rightly so, but not the Vulcan (if they know anything about it)

At around $100.00, it is hard to beat!!

I think you are about to experience the Sage series...and you're gonna like it.
The Sage 1 + 2 are both excellent folders with incredible f+f.
My Sage 2 is always along for the ride because it is so much fun to play with, and it cuts just as good as it feels.

Way to read the original post there buddy. I don't care what you think is high end.

Living life with your head stuck in the sand doesn't change reality.

If you think a $100 knife qualifies as High-End, good for you.

Just be prepared to be surprised when you encounter a true High-End knife.

If by living life with my head in the sand you mean, having less monetary income than you then yes... However it's not something I can change. Next time you think you can crap on someone's opinions maybe you should consider the fact that not everyone can afford whatever you consider high end. That way you wont come off as such a snobbish douchbag.

I truly like the look and feel of the Caly 3. I just don't like the lockback. Not that they are less strong, or less eficiaent, I just dont like using them. not as fun to me I suppose.

...relative to each person and their individual economic situation, and their obsession with knives themselves. So, with that brief foreboding of my intended conversation...you say what you want, and I'll speak like an educated person

Big Mike: I don't get out of bed for 100$ knives.

Oh, look, the pot and the kettle are at it again! ;)

You know nothing of me or my monetary position.

I save my money so I can get good knives.

I have not in any way insulted you, I just stated some facts about High-End Knives,

...your term not mine.

Cool-off my friend, insults like yours are not tolerated on these forums.

Fair enough, I may have misinturpreted you tone. For that I apologise

The term "High End" means diffent things to different people. Some folks can drop $500-$1,000 on a folder and not even blink, others don't like to spend more than $30. It's all relative. A high end knife for me at the $100 price range would be:
Kershaw Blur in S30V or CPM154

Do you ever contribute anything other than trolling?

Why don't you take your lousy attitude over to a more appropriate forum - W&C

BeardTamer,

I own or have owned many knives in the $400 to $800 range: Hinderers, Striders, CRk, Les George VECP's, etc. One thing I can tell you is that the knife that is in my pcoket 90% of the time is my Para 2. It may not be the most aesthetically pleasing to some, but it is a functional masterpiece.

I'm going to be honest, if I could freaking find a para 2, then I would have bought that, but I cannot find the freaking thing anywhere...
