First Impressions of Rambo IV Knife?

I would have to say that he carried his pt. 2 knife faithfully for years while in seclusion. During a scrap with the bad guys, he loses his beloved friend in a dramatic fight scene (the dropped Lile knife in the trailer). In order to make it through the movie, he forges another knife and gets mean. Just a guess ;)

I like the new knife, it looks like something that would effectively handle bamboo, vines and other things found in a tropical environment. Stallone is a talented actor (see First Blood and Copland) and still in fantastic shape, 'roids or no 'roids.

The beautiful thing about Sylvester Stallone is that he has gained over the years a fine humor for himself. If anyone makes fun of him it's himself in talkshows and such.

I think he took himself too seriously in the middle of his career, Cliffhanger, the Specialist and those movies.

In the beginnig the man made absolute gems of movies he just got a bad rep af acting seriously that stuck with him. Rocky Balboa got everyone off their ass to go box and when that song comes on, the eye of the tiger, us machos start sharpening our knives and applieng boot polis to our army boots, gettin' ready!

Rambo First Blood was a very reallistic, well made and well acted movie with Sly creating the ultimate american soldier/warmachine just like he created the ultimate american boxer. I meen how many have tried and come up super short of Sly's accomplishments in creating movie legends.

His latest Rocky was a damn good movie. He plays the dumb non educated street thug again like he was in the beginning and there was the magic. I'm not saying the magic is all back but enough to make me feel good.

If he goes back to the drawing board and manages to bring out some of that old magic he showed us those years back, Rambo 4 will be the movie of the decade.

I'm not saying the man is the best actor in the world but he sure has a knack of giving me macho goosebumps and making me believe that tough motherf...s exist out there.

And I love the idea of an old Rambo. When you combine brawn with wisdom gained in decades of war, you get a very dangerous man.

There's no "tough motherf....s" out there..There is only "trained" or "not-trained".
Didn't you see "Man on Fire" ? :D

Does anyone else wonder where the hell the Rambo III knife went? That was my favorite.

If the new knife is the golok-like blade, it's a perfect choice. That style of blade is the style of choice in that area of the world, IIRC. The golok is to the Burmese what the kukri is to the Nepalese.

You **really** need to read Tom Clancy's book called Without Remorse. By far the best book he's ever written, and yes, the protagonist is a very dangerous man. Great stuff!

Agree.

While Stallone is not my favorite actor and the Rambo movies have been a bit hokey, I still enjoy them. He is no worse an actor than Chuck Norris. The knife is a realistic one for the jungle. I broke my United Cutlery Rambo II knife trying to actually use it. Dumb move. Should have used a golok on those palmetto trunks. I'm looking forward to the movie. We old farts need inspiration, too. Sly is a couple years older than I am and looks a hell of a lot better. Gotta get back to the old bowflex.

I'd try just laying out in a speedo first, see where that gets you.

what I like about that pic, is the fact that all the actors have their fingers OFF the triggers.

I like the knife. Better than the previous Rambo knives. I would actually like to own/use this knife.
I agree with Rat on both of these statements.

he has a golok this time. I like it, it's not a big cheesy sawback pseudo-bowie.
