First larger fighter: The Inquisitor!

Gorgeous lines and grinds!

I hate to be a spoil-sport, but am I the only one who raises an eyebrow at such a long blade with such a short tang?

Wolf, I used the mill and then files for the cross.

As for the tang, I though it was long enough. If it makes a difference, the handle will be African Blackwood.

Thanks for the good words guys.

Kept the cross cause, well cause Erin said he liked it and he went to all the trouble of getting the é in my name right. ;)

Ha... I don't have one of them funny 'e's on my keyboard... so I just cut-n-pasted from one of your posts. :p

Looking good Patrice.

That's what I figured Erin, you have to have your keyboard layout set to French.

I am glad you guys like it. I sure hope you still do when you see the handle.;)

A quick tip on the e's with an accent... most north american keyboards have the function that if you hold CTRL and SHIFT once, it changes your / or ? or ' keys to type the é. This of course will continue to write the accented e until you press CTRL and SHIFT 2 more times.

Sorry for that slight derail ;)

Can't wait to see how this turns out patrice! Ahh the wonders of a mill... maybe one day for me :D

Thanks for the tip and good words Wolf.
If you are serious about this hobby, definitely put a mill high on your 'to buy' list. You'll love it.

It was not going so well at the grinder so I moved to hand sanding at 220 grit. Here is what it looks like after a couple hours work. Still some 220 scratches in there but almost all gone. Had to etch it to see where we stand. I am happy with it. I don't think I could have done better on the hamon placement short of tracing it with a marker. :D;)

Thanks for looking and sorry once again for such slow progress.

Looks like it's coming together really nicely. I'm anxious -- and ever-so-slightly concerned -- to see what you have in mind for the handle. :p

Slow???... All a matter of perspective I suppose. ;)
Keep the photos coming... I'm excited to see where this one heads.

Nice! I don't think you could ask for a better hamon, sure interesting to see what you come up with for the handle.

Lookin' great, Patrice! Hmmm.... Lemee. Damn, my keyboard won't do it. Color me crestfallen. Keep the pics coming!

Just copy-n-paste dude... copy-n-paste. The real question is can you pronounce it correctly? ;)

I'm guessing something like this...
Lemmy.jpg

... only with the accent on the second syllable. At least that's how it sounds in my head. :foot:
Erin

Thanks for the good words Calvin, I just hope I don't mess it up with the handle. As you may know I have a tendency to venture a little too far outside the box sometimes. :o

Erin, I didn't know this guy so I thought you were comparing him to me. :( Now I imagine he is called Lemmy.
I guess the first part is pronounced like my name. For the é, easiest English way to look at it is Lemay. That's how most people spell it here in Canada but as you know, I am special! :D

Yeah Patrice… the photo is Lemmy from the band Motörhead. (posted for the name, not the resemblance). ;)
