First larger fighter: The Inquisitor!

Rough fit but I thought I'd give you guys a preview of handle shape. Far from final shape but a general idea at least.
Man that African blackwood is HARD stuff. :(

I believe that handle on that "Inquisitor" will work out real well !!! The all one colour and shape seem to fit this knife !!! I like this one the best so far of the ones you have done here in the forums !!!! Very good, Pat.

Wow Pat this one is really coming together! Can you hear me doing a whistle! :applouse::applouse:

How is the African Blackwood to work with?

Thanks DB, glad you like it.

From the little I've done on this, African Blackwood it seems like a nice wood to work with but darn it's hard! Almost like Ironwood. :(

Latest progress. Got the guard and pommel close to final shape and starting shaping the handle accordingly. That African blackwood is oily and gummy stuff. Also made a finial for the pommel. Not sure about the shape yet, time will tell if it stays that way. I also to drew some possible engraving I want to do. I'll keep things simple, hopefully.

Thanks for following this slow build.

Looking Good Patrice. I'm really like that wood you used!

I am excited to see your version of "Simple" Patrice! Looking great.. Nice snag Mike

I am glad you like it Mike. The shape needs a lot of refining but I think you can see enough of what it will look like, in case you want to change your mind. ;)

Phil, those are my skin colored latex gloves. Makes me look more human.;)

Thanks again for the good words and your support guys.

Patrice, very nice progress, if you go with that finial and that scalloped engraving on the pomel I think in needs a lanyard ring in the finial it would blend well with other classical shapes/details you have going there.
Chris

Will you be looking at down sizing the front of the handle, Pat ? It certainly seems to be oversize and is very uncomfortable to hold as it is. As well it makes the knife look blocky and takes away from the lovely curves of the blade. Frank

Chris, you don't want me to go the simple route do you? ;) Kidding aside, that is a great idea. I'll look into it, thanks.

Frank, good eye as always. It does need to be downsized but not very much, mainly to gave it a curvier look. It is surprisingly comfortable to hold. Thanks for your input.
