First Look -Kershaw+ Emerson Collaboration !!! You gotta see these beauties!

I take back everything I said about choice of steels and the Kershaw Emerson Collabs. I received a Buck vantage from a forum member recently. The flipper on that knife isn't good and neither is the dumb hole lol...as its too awkward to get your thumb onto it.

But it had great ergos when opened and a bunch of other nice qualities. I ended up doing the ziptie ghetto wave on it. It was my first time using a waved feature knife....

Such a wonderful creative means of getting a knife open on Emerson's part! It would be worth it to order one on the merits of the wave function alone. 8cr is not my favorite but Kershaw does it right so why

not...now the hard part which one or ones to order.... :-)

I was salty about the blade steel as well my friend, then I learned the ZT collab will have M390 and Elmax...
Kershaw brought me into the name-brand knife world...
Then I was introduced to its big brother ZT...

Sure there is nothing wrong with 8cr
But there was nothing wrong with Sandvik either...
Whatevs I'm going ZT when the collabs come out.
And if Kershaw is going to continue the trend of lower quality steel that would be most unfortunate IMO.

A blade length is too short for me but I appreciate Kershaw and Emerson creating this line up. Solid frame lock that won't kill your bank account.

Still no estimated release date?

Not as far as I know, brother. Keep your eyes peeled, though. I don't think it should be too much longer. The good thing is since they're being made overseas, they don't necessarily have to compete with production of the ZT's. Hopefully this translates to a quicker turn-around.

Just keep your fingers crossed. I'm sure they're going to be worth the wait :D

EDIT: Caught this little gem from the official Emerson Rep who works that forum now...

I'm not quite sure on when the ZT collaboration will be available but the Kershaw collab could hit dealers in the next month or so.

I'm still waiting on my preorders. I really like Emerson designs and I love how Kershaw has managed to produce good quality knives at incredible prices, so to me this is a winning combination and I am as excited about this as when Emerson and Spyderco did the D4W/E4W. I think these are going to be hugely popular because many people who like Emerson knives may not be able to afford them, and I dare say that if both Emerson and KAI are putting their name on this that it will be a fantastic product relative to the pricing. I too would have preferred a different steel, but it's still a helluvalotta knife for the money!

I couldn't agree more, man!

Definitely! That 6K is the sweetest one. But I'm a sucker for Emerson and tantos so I may have to pick up a 7K as well.

Great thing is at the prices they'll be going for, you can pick up 3 or 4 to try out! Way to go KAI

BladeHQ finally filled out the last of the knife specs a couple days ago so that's a good sign they'll be out soon I think

Just ordered a 6k off amazon for 44$ shipped. Stoked to play around with the wave for awhile. Then ill probably give it to my sister and buy a ZT wave.

Ok I know they are double beveled, but is the edge chisel or reg
