First Look - Kershaw RJ1 RJII

Cant wait for these I saw nutnfancy's vids from shot show and got super excited for them!

i love the belly on the tanto but im a little turned off by the design. i think its the area that juts out

I'm seriously loving those three, especially the non-coated, non-catalogue version. And unlike a lot of people on here, it's NOT because of it being manual. I actually like the SpeedSafe A/O, as do many of the people I deal with at work. I just dig the more "plain" style blade. It also makes for a more "public-friendly" look, IMO.

I don't know hard numbers, but personal experience would say the A/O Kershaws we carry at work outsell the manual Kershaws by about 2 to 1, and we have about the same amount of manual models for sale as A/O. We knife nuts may be biased towards manual, but everything I've seen says the average sporting goods customer is more inclined towards the assisted.

Not loving the handle or clip placement, but the blade shape screams along the lines of the eki roadhouse and is beautiful!

Hey Thomas, what the blade length on the non-cataloged version?

Edit: And what exactly is non-cataloged. Please forgive my ignorance.

Well here it comes, the first design looks absolutely like a million other, folders, nothing new there, snooze.

The second design, the Non Catalog one, is the one that should be invested in, that is a wicked nice knife, thoroughly non lefty friendly as set up (why is that? Kershaw does a great job of screwing the pooch on so many little things.)

I like that who ever designed the pocket clip got away from the traditional (crap) flattened heroin spoon look. Now, only ONLY, if someone could drill six little holes to open up the carry options for those of us that like that kind of thing.

Nice work on the second one. One of these days Kershaw will get it right, all the way, with premium materials, options and price, until then as always, its very hit or miss.

I am liking your new stuff Thomas, before 2011 is done I will probably have a couple Kershaws again.

Someone had a double dose of Haterade today, huh?

Both designs look great. I like the styling and flow of the manual flipper better. Another one to add to the list!

so it wont have jimping and the deep carry pocket clip as seen before? also will it be offered in all black like the volt II? thanks

I know... I know... Zombie thread... But one simple question which I didn't see answered here...
When?

Additionally we did another manual Tanto variation from RJ. This piece will be a flipper, and will be on the market as a non-cataloged version at some point later this year. MSRP will be $39.95 on it also.

That's sexy!! It's a meaner version of the Chill!! Can't wait!!

These are amazing looking, and while I hate tanto blades I can justify buying this one because it's got a bellied edge.
