First Look!! ZT & Emerson Collabs - Made in USA, Feared around the world!!!

I love that blade shape, for me it is about as close to perfection as I can find. The best of both brands, Emerson design, ZT quality. Unless you wear skinny jeans that you have to lube up to put on, there will be no issue whipping that folder out and waving it in one motion.

Hate to brag, but I am blessed to live in Oregon. For the past four years my dad, brother, and I go up to the Kershaw factory sale in December. Last year my brother bought a ZT561 for $125. They haven't had a ton of new designs over those past 4 years but this year they have several emerson colabs as well as the black stonewashed knives. This December is going to be amazing.

It's pretty similar to the ETAK B blade don't ya think? Not that that a bad thing at all, but very welcome addition. One of my favorite blade shapes because it looks like a Japanese katana kind. See what i mean ----

I'm looking forward to checking that ZT collab out, it'll be nice addition, but i wouldn't feel like i was missing out if i didn't get it.

You got it Franz, I like the ETAK it looks amazingly cool and about the right size for my uses.

If they make one in M390 with G10, I'd be in for one. I'm presuming the CF scale will be smooth - I prefer a little texturing. Or, I guess I might buy a CF model used and get it pimped with Ti-bolsters and linen micarta for a custom look.

I realize I'm probably alone here but that 0620cf would look much better to me without the wave feature messing with the lines. Which would be silly for an Emmerson colab, I realize that but still. Also if we're being picky I think the blade looks ever so slightly too stocky. I think that would easily be solved by just a little extra length, say 4,0 instead of 3,6.

But I'm still getting it as is though :D

I've had both Emersons and lots of ZT's. I like 'em both. This collab will be a sure winner. I would like to see, however, a bit of belly to the blade... Just my opinion. Combining the Elmax AND the wave is a bit of genius. NOT a fan of 154cm; it ranks right up there with the Model A Ford in my book.

BladeHQ has them posted for pre-order for $200 for the 0620 and $240 for the 0620 CF.

Yea I checked into that...such a tease!

We should also make note of the Kershaw/Emerson knives coming out as well. Not ZT level obviously, but with solid materials at a much more affordable price and the same basic design.

Any word on when these will hit the market?

Not sure how relevant this is, but GPKnives lists a 3rd quarter 2014 ETA for the Kershaw versions of the Emerson collaborations, which is the only actual ETA I have seen anywhere, so that might apply to the ZT's as well. Actually, I just looked and they show a Q2 2014 ETA for the ZT Emersons, for what it is worth...

I love KAI, but I wouldn't put too much faith in any ETA date provided. When it's out, it's out.

No doubt, just pointing out that that was the only actual ETA of any sort I have seen. Another one of the MAJOR knife retail websites (who shall remain nameless) recently listed the Kershaw Emersons on their site with "Arrived:" dates listed, which had me excited for a few seconds, but I checked with them and that meant "Arrived" on their website to be pre-ordered... :p

I honestly think I will be purchasing this awesome looking knife. I own 4 Microtechs and a couple of Benchmades. I just placed an order for a Southern Grind Bad Monkey tanto. I seem to have caught the blade bug pretty bad recently...

For my next blade I want a frame locker with a tanto edge. Except to justify a purchase like that, I'll need to the knife to do something special. Say... like open beer bottles... And after doing a search on this forum (see below), I would say this knife is.. almost sold. Never mind the fact that the beer bottle opener doubles as a pocket catching blade deployer.. :)

I'll keep an eye out after it's officially available, and if the "Momma" is in agreement, it will be mine!!

I was leaning more towards getting the 0562 first but after going through this thread enough I honestly think I'm a little more excited for the 0620. Emerson function with ZT fit and finish? Come on, how can you go wrong? And personally I love that blade shape they're going with.
