First 'Real' Knife

Not just ok, FANTASTIC! Honestly if you had put your mark or initials to show that it was your blade I'd buy it. That really is nice. In the future would you sell one like that to me?

Totally. Get ready for a new career! Do you make sheaths too?

Wow, looking at this makes me want to delete my scruffy backyard blade pics. That is a beautiful piece of work, and I love the welded pommel.

Man, that is a real beauty. I don't impress easily but you should be very, very proud. I would be ecstatic if I made a knife that looked like that, that is just gorgeous.

I really can't stress enough what a great job you did on that knife! If you like the work, I would seriously consider doing it for a living. I think your knives would go for big bucks in a hurry.

Your dad is a lucky guy!

Really well done man!

This is quite overwhelming guys, thanks for all the awesome feedback, I really wasn't expecting so much response.

nate3993, I'm preparing to make a sheath for the next one, it will be my first! (So many skills to learn so little time.) And I'm still working out a makers mark, it'll be on the next one for sure, and yes I will start selling my stuff when I'm happy with the QC and have tested some for hard use.

Ridiculously, I am looking for a change in career! I'd love to do this full time (I think, I've just started this journey really so it's hard to know.), here in Oz there aren't many full time makers yet there are an amazing amount of really talented guys so I'd be reliant on overseas sale as my primary income. Sorta scares me a bit, really.
My plan is to make a few more get some equipment and sort out suppliers then see what happens, I'll be keeping everyone posted.

Cheers,

Jules

looks great...especially like the pommel. I think you could sell every one of those you made.

Like everyone else said, very very nice blade! Love the pommel and the shape of the handle, looks great and very functional too!

I rarely say that, but it looks just perfect. That's one outstanding knife, you'd be a very good knifemaker. I'm deeply impressed.

Beautiful knife:thumbup:

Looks very functional as well. Your dad is a lucky guy:D

If you made a bunch of those, they'd sell like hotcakes on here. Very impressive. As others have said, love that pommel. It brings real class to the piece.
