Fishing, and hunting reports (share yours)

Thanks Mark. It's a 6.5 PRC build. NOT my choice for big bulls but shoots just stupid good and I knew I might be stretching out the barrel in big country. I stayed out of the shoulder and in the ribs and it did great pushing 156 grain EOLs. I believe I will go ahead and do a 30 cal or 33 cal build in a similar setup tho, just in case the stars ever align again.
I'm going to use my Sako S20 6.5 PRC with Hornady Match factory ammo on my Oryx hunt in January. It shoots 1/3 MOA at 300 yards.
BTW nice bull.

Field update:

On the way in to the bush yesterday managed to spot and make a great shot on a 4pt muley. About 132m on a steep hill (horizontal distance, around 180-190m ish shoot-to distance) with the Model 70 and 180gr Accubonds - one shot drop right behind the shoulder.

FK2 90 spine skinned, quartered and got the backstraps, loins, neck meat and as much else as I could cut up with it no problem. Bumping in to bone all along the way on the tighter cuts - still shaving sharp after a whole deer and not even a roll on the edge!

Will get a couple photos up soonest; forgot the Gold Member account thing rolled over so will be on it tonight.

And for the gun guys, rig setup is:

Winchester Model 70 EW in 300wsm
Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40mm with the Boone&Crockett reticle
Accubond 180's around 3025fps

Shot was standing with the old Alice pack medium off the back corner of the truck and a coat as support.

Have another 30 or so rounds of the Accubonds done up but will be switching over to either a 200gr Terminal Ascent or the 180 CX

Never have caught em in the act before! This guy hasn’t daylighted a single time for me.

SpyderPhreak SpyderPhreak congratulations on your successful hunt. May I ask what calibre you used?
Apologies, I missed this post. It's dad's old pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in 30-06 (tack driver), paired with a vintage Colorado-made Redfield 3-9x40 scope. Shooting some older (~7 years old) Federal Premium topped with the all-copper Barnes TSX 180 grain. I'll use this exact same round for deer or Pronghorn too (might be overkill, but it shoots well and does the job nicely).

Hunted hard during archery to fill the freezer. Unfortunately was unable to recover a doe I arrowed. Went into muzzleloader season and got this three just to fill the freezer. A week later I got this 8 at the same stand. Almost passed on it due to how narrow the spread was but it was the first decent buck I had seen in two years so he went into the freezer too. Very fortunate to have been able to get these two.

Put a hurtin’ on the hogs tonight. Wife’s aunt calls me and says she’s had hogs up by her house for the last couple nights. Told her I’d come take a look tonight. Shot 6 recovered 4, two that I didn’t recover were piglets, right when I shot them they both flew down into the creek. I’m going back in the morning to clean up, I’ll get daytime pics.

Went out this morning to clean the hogs up from last night, take my aunts John Deer Gator out to the pasture, pull up to the last sow I shot, put the tailgate down and threw her in, I turn around to a boar standing 50yds behind me.

I couldn’t lift this big ass sow on my own and had to drag her with the Gator
