Fisk Micro Show 2010 - Preview

I really look forward to seeing all the friends in October. For many, it's the only time we get together all year. Then there's the new friends we make over the weekend.

Always a blast seeing Darby and his knives. That JR Cook sword is a masterpiece and your Fisk NLT collection is amazing. Especially the one displayed at the ABS Museum in Little Rock. Had to drop by to see that one again. One of the nicest Fisk knives ever made in my opinion.

A big Thanks to the Fisk Ladies (including Bob who will officially be a Fisk Lady in a couple weeks).:) They did an excellent job in helping Jerry get it ALL together.

Great time, great food, great knives.
I will do a show review after I get CKCA business tightened up.
Our 2011 calendars went on sale today, by the way.

Oh, the ladies, it would have been rough without them. Thank you ladies! :)

Very good seeing you, Kevin!

Don, you beat me to "the punch".

Guys, every now and again you get blessed....OUT OF THE BLUE!

Some people you just click with; Don is one of those people for me.

I have admired his work for years but I now.... it just means so much more.

Don is "the MAN". (very humble)

Don, it is an honor to carry you on MY SIDE! ;)

Folks, your missing out if you don't go to Jerry's show...1st class all the way..

the comradery of the collectors at this show; well, I have never seen.

THEY TAUGHT ME MUCH. I hope to be back next year.

Crowl is a super nice guy too.

No, Darby. You are the MAN!!!

Meeting and visiting with you was worth the trip alone. Was a true pleasure.

 This is great! We don't see too many "group hugs" here in the Custom and Handmade subforum.

Congratulations to all the attendees. Sounds like great times. :)

That was truly a great weekend. What a fantastic opportunity to meet and get to know so many fine people. Made some new friends, ate way to much to often. Jerry's daughter sure can cook. Darby, man you sure put on a feed also. Your jambalaya is just awesome.

The amount of work that Jerry and his family put into this weekend really shows. Everything was first class. Thank you!

I have to say the knives that were there were amazing. I really enjoyed looking at and coon fingering all of them I could.

 Darby that was the best Jambalaya that I have ever tasted. Sure think that is one kick ass knife that you wrestled Don for;):D:thumbup::thumbup:

If the gator had not escaped, Darby might have had to wrestle it for Don's carry knife!

Just a tremendous show. Jerry, Bob and all the super family and friend hospitality was just fabulous.

A great group of people, with some awesome steel thrown in on the side. Very hard to beat a weekend like this. Thanks to all involved!!

I may have to join WeightWatchers this week... ;)

Again this year it was a Super Show. The knives were spectacular and the food was awesome.

The best part was seeing old friends and meeting new friends.

My thanks to Jerry, Lorraine, Holly, James, Darby, Terry Rogers, JR Cook, Pete Crowl and Don Hanson for a really great time.

My first show of this kind and what a treat. The makers had extraordinary examples of their work.

Where else do you have Jerry Fisk teach you how to cut free hanging rope then hand you his personal cutter for your first ever cut. Having these guys speak from the heart about different aspects of their craft was something I'll never forget.

The collectors assembled were a great mix of folks. There was a ton of information sharing and stories that helped burn off the great food calories with laughs.

I was fortunate and honored to land a couple of knives that will remind me of this pow wow. Will post up some pics when they get to my home.

Thanks to all who made this a memorable experience!
