Fisk Micro Show 2010 - Preview

This is in the style that you can see many of Texas Ranger pictures from the days when they carried this style a lot. The design is right out of some of the English style bowie patterns that were sent over in large batches to the west. It is a carbon steel blade of approx 7 1/2 inches in length. This piece has a straight stag handle that is rounded off like many of them were and has a scalloped type of guard. They used this style of guard and flat ovals a lot as well as a few other designs , some had ferrules some did not. England produced these by the thousands because they were so functional. They still are today. With the straight design handle you get a lot of speed in the swing. Historical and functional, hummm, sounds like an old girl friend.

A rare hunter, 5" damascus blade, damascus guard, Premo fossil walrus ivory, gold pin, 9.5" over all length.

When I first started making knives, I made hunters. They sold for $8.00 each or a matched pair for $15.00. For those of you that are at the show and want to, you can put your marble in the bag and we will draw for it, the winner pays $8.00.
If you just really like this knife you can pay the full price of you want to, thats up to you. The blade is 5160 carbon steel, water quenched with an Desert Iron Wood handle and stainless guard and pins. A good solid design with good solid value.

I could not help myself. I went back and engraved the southern bowie that was posted earlier and not engraved. I thought I would leave it up to the client and just had to engrave it. The reason being is I like to make a knife like I would want myself. Hence it is now engraved.

8 knives?? Thats like more then he brings to blade! :)

You guys will have an awesome time. That collection right there is making me drool.

"Fossil" Don is on another level. It's like his family bred mammoths and burried them for him to unleash their ivory on the rest of the world. Great stuff!

HaHa, Baliey. That's good :D

Absolutely the best time I've ever had at a knife show! By far!

This is saying a lot, because I've had some really great times at shows over the years.

The food and company were out of this world. No words to describe! I have new friends and a larger belly :D

I didn't take any pics, but lots of others did, hopefully they'll post em up soon.

If any of you ever get a chance to go to Jerry's, you must go!

Jerry and folks, thank you very much for having me there.

That's right Chuck!

I'll tell y'all something. This was my first time meeting Darby. Dang, that man is funny!
Had me laughing hard I tell ya! :D And the 'Darb Man' is a world class cook too! Great guy!

Good Times!

Don, you beat me to "the punch".

Guys, every now and again you get blessed....OUT OF THE BLUE!

Some people you just click with; Don is one of those people for me.

I have admired his work for years but I now.... it just means so much more.

Don is "the MAN". (very humble)

Don, it is an honor to carry you on MY SIDE! ;)

Folks, your missing out if you don't go to Jerry's show...1st class all the way..

the comradery of the collectors at this show; well, I have never seen.

THEY TAUGHT ME MUCH. I hope to be back next year.

Crowl is a super nice guy too.

And, as luck would have it (good for you, bad for the rest of us), DH, I'm sure there'll be nothing on your "available" page after that one!
