Fixed blade knife breaking in pocket?

Women in yoga pants and concealed wood could be a whole 'nother thread...

^ What about men? :D

Believe it or not, but I just started wearing men's yoga pants recently- they're actually quite comfortable. Just like in the movie "Unfinished Business," with Vince Vaughn, we (my buddies & I), call these pants, "machetes."

If I can find some free time this afternoon, I'd be more than happy to take a selfie of me wearing my machetes along with my ZT-9 bayonet...

Due to logistical reasons, I'd have to carry the ZT-9 in my left front pocket, however, which would create problems because I'm a righty.

I'm calling you out on this one. Let's see the selfie. Better yet, just post a pic of the ZT-9.

That Ti knife still shouldn't set a bend under almost any carry/use conditions...

Perhaps the OP should be listening to radio ads for the Men's Clinic. They make pills now that increase the usefulness of your bat(for status, of course). Tho, it does make it a little 'harder' to conceal(see what I did there?)

Be careful. Call your doctor if you have a baseball bat in your pants for 4 hours.

OP:
A LOT of people do or have done martial arts. Including lots of people here. Nothing overly special about that. Someone could throw a rubber ball on a city street and it would hit at least 3 people who have done martial arts before it hits the ground. No martial artists I've ever known have ever carried any type of weapon as a 'status symbol'. It reeks of 'wannabe' and overcompensation.

J jaime_lion : So you are taking martial arts and have found an interest in knives. This volatile combination has elevated your confidence and you seem to want to display your prowess of both. You are looking for trouble. Don't. Practice restraint. If you are able to, then perhaps a few suggestions:

Consider a neck knife. Can be deployed quickly using either hand. Can be concealed or displayed for the status which you seek. Consider redirection where you have a blade exposed on one side and a blade concealed on the other. Take a look at the retention and carry method espoused by DJ Urbanovsky of American Kami. It is how I move from concealed IWB to open carry OWB to neck knife and back in mere seconds. Combine all of the above if you wish.

It sure will if the Ti is a skeletonized integral of 0.0625" stock ;)

Well, shit in a bag and punch it. That's interesting, adamlau.

Normally I can bend a big ti billet of 6al4v to 90 degrees and have it pretty much return true. However they are all heavily pre-work hardened and solid, which might have something to do with it. I could see that model getting a bit of twist where the "spars" of the handle meet the blade.

The slight twist is also possible over time because of tensions introduced into the fresh ti during cutting and shaping. I think this is the most likely answer, i.e., the recent thread in Shoptalk where merely sandblasting a fresh ti scale was enough to cause it to warp due to introduced stresses. This aspect of ti is important to consider when forging it to shape, whether for big blades or aerospace parts.

Just clamp it in a vice and flex the ti backpacker the other way to make it true again, I suppose. The ti alloy isn't going to fatigue or get weaker because of it.

I actually have 2 of the ZT-9's. One that I've kept NIB and the other one I use when I'm up in high country in North Central Idaho. I didn't really buy this for my AR, however I did attach it once just to check and & see how it mounted on my Sig Sauer- nice and solid actually.

This is one massive fixed blade of 1/4' thick full tang S30V steel.

And FWIW: I did try, but I wasn't able to get this ZT-9 to fit inside15822539_10208591787212285_7760011224426266460_n.jpg 15747635_1204694992917280_2298019555166746394_n.jpg 19366314_1013813608756152_540772343829042635_n.jpg 19396741_1013813565422823_1472142756187789977_n.jpg my machetes.

Almost every person that I have encountered that was into martial arts never said a word about it, and I learned of it through a third party or actually getting to know them. Some I would never have guessed they were such advanced students/practitioners of the art.

Agreed. You need more status first.
I thought that's what the bat gave...

Oh man, I am lost now...
If the bat needs a tactical prerequisite, but it also gives a tactical quotient, how does one get to the caliber of an operator needed to acquire said bat?

Man, being an operator must be confusing... Glad I don't hang out at the mall.
