If you were in a remote wilderness area and could only bring one fixed bade knife with you, what would it be? ( assume you have a pocket knife like a Rucksack with you also)

Please be specific.

Depending on the specific area and/or mission, my Camillus PSK or my Busse Basic 3. The PSK for chopping, hacking, and general camp chores or the Busse for field dressing.

It's not the pace of life that concerns me, It's the sudden stop at the end.

Steel Heart II, without question.

The wise man said, "It can't be done." The fool came in and did it.

Muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone.

Take the Test...

Busse Steel Heart II or Natural Outlaw...it would depend a little on the terrain and situation...

Long Term: Blackjack Marauder II, 15 inch. Nearest thing to my hardwood chopper.

This knife is out of production, but there is a British/Australian cunning plan to make something better; it will be a long while yet 2002).

Here's something a little different. I just bought two scandanavian style blades from Ragnar (www.ragweedforge.com) and I made the handles and sheaths for them.

One has a 4" laminated stainless steel blade which is a great little camp knife. The other has a 7.5" stainless blade which will tackle some larger jobs but is still light enough to carry on a hike. I got both blades for about $35 and they have a cool traditional look that you don't get with a Busse.

I'm sorry to say "it depends", but for me it depends on how much weight my poor back can take (less and less each year

). If I was homesteading I would just get an axe.
