Fixed blade knife survey

While out of the box sharpness is importaint to some, it should play very little in your decision to purchase a certian knife.

Toughness, edge holding, rust resistance, ease of resharpening, ect
is much more important.

None of my Busses have ever been sharp enough for me out of the box, but after I sharpen them they will cleanly split hairs and chop like crazy.

Not that you need more than that folder, especially if its a multi-tool or SAK, but most quality fixed blade knives between 4 and 6 inches would do nicely. I'm partial to my Dozier Pro Guide, so that's what I'd bring.

Bigger than that? No thanks.
