I think that Marfione is the natural superior choice considering your preferences for CCW. It also strikes me as every bit as sexy as the Brend. Me likes it. I hope it satisfies your intensions for it. [emoji41]

Yes, it is definitely equal in sexy. :D

It is superior in daily use. Much deeper hollow grind lends to a more useful edge.

Hey CM!
I totally understand...
A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do (same for gals, I'm equality minded)...
But maybe let the shock of adding all the equipment to your knife making business wear off
before making a decision? Jic...

Yup... couldn't do this with the Brend.

I have learned not to get attached to things/people. This came out of many hard knock experiences. I will never have enough money to allow myself to own something that doesn't get carried and used. I just purchased a surface grinder and magnetic chuck... that ran me $2300... so at this moment, I especially can't afford to keep a safe queen... which is what this knife would become.

Fair enough, and good on you for having your priorities figured out. I hope the new Marfione gives you years of good service.

I've always been a fan of Bud Nealy, the fact that he lives 20 minutes from me and has always been open and inviting to his shop. He's a great guy to talk shop with and has lots of interesting life stories if ya just wanna gab.

He makes some of the best CCW knives on the market with sales to many government agencies and bodyguards for many different country's secret police. His grinds are just gorgeous and his MCS systems are second to none when it comes to versatility.

Here's what they say about Bud's knives

I've carried his Aikuchi, one of the first 7 knives he made to take to the first ECCKS on the east coast back in the late 80s when he went full time. I've carried this knife pretty much non stop since I bought it from him almost 30 years ago.

I still have the originally modified by me sheath and one of the last time's I saw him he made me a new sheath and offered to buy his knife back for double what I paid for it.
