Thanks, I looked at a few historical examples to get the profile just so. The only thing I strayed from was a double saber grind as opposed to a full flat.

I am waaaaaaay late to this thread, but I thought I'd share a few of my favorite things. I didn't have time to round up all the others from the safe, drawers, workshop, vehicle, basement, or shed.....lol.

Hi

It's a .25" thick 7" blade, 13" oal. SCM(Steel Composite Material) 435 stainless steel, HRC 58-60, full extended tang. FRN scales that are removable. Not much is known about the steel other than it is widely used in machine parts etc, & that there's so much of it in this knife.

Badass of a blade. The kind that does everything well.

Designed by a gentleman called Justin Gingrich of GTI, a former US army ranger.

Interesting! Im familiar with justins designs and knives, i like them.

I haven't heard of or worked with 435 steel, looks like they got a decent hardness and good designer so i bet its at least a decent blade. Thanks for sharing!

I hope that didn't sound to harsh on 5.11. Now that I think of it, they made a tarani karambit I gifted to a forum member years ago. It was well made. Damn, 5.11 actually doing good shit lol I just had an epiphany

I’ve always wanted a Scagel, and a Randal - Behring whipped up a modern hybrid for me 18 months back. Very happy with this one. I accidentally put 2 inches of the 6 into my thigh first day owning too . We’ve bonded.

N Natlek If interested check out the Behring knives website. You can have them build you one . 3-6 month turnaround I think.

I am going in a different direction, instead of bigger fixed blades I wanted to show a small one that has surprised me how practical it has been. It is a small blade from Tony Mont with no handle scales and slim pocket sheath.

Here is another practical one that has grown on me, a small Redsquid2 with a blade of CM 154 and butterscotch micarta. His blades are great users and have small cosmetic issues, he does a lot by hand, but are well put together.

Lastly, a Kephart inspired knife by Presnell, 3/32 in 1095 and micarta.
