Fixed blades

Another knife I don't make too often. Another I probably should make more often! A Sonoran Skinner:

First time I saw one was years ago on a commercial for SMKW. I think it popped up on the Tom O’Dell crapola show. The second I saw it - “oooooh, what’s dat?!”

When I took that pic I had just cut it out of the bag, still had the factory grease on it. It’s cleaned up and edge oiled…. Waiting to kick ass like Chuck Norris. Hopefully get to wail on it this weekend.
The War Bowie can take a serious beating. I think I’ll grab another one around Xmas. I definitely think you’ll like. It looks completely badass and it’s actually functional in many roles.

Dawson Outback at the moment--it resembles a sharpened railroad spike.

Learned something new today....haha.
I did a search on the internet, and a big knife site has a Bunch of that maker.....

Looks like they have close to a Hundred designs. :0

Barry Dawson started making knives with his brother after returning from the war in Vietnam and has passed the business on to his grandchildren. Dawson Knives used to have a paid presence on BF but I think that's gone now. They do have a website that is worth checking out.

Here's another small one from Dawson, called the Mercury, with Horsewright Horsewright 's pocket sheath. The Mercury is as thin as the Outback is thick. It is a good slicer.

Maybe I'll just post a Dawson a day here until my small collection is played out.

I like their simpler designs.

I think it's a Super Cool design!
I remember seeing it here on Bladeforums, someone posted the maker (before) prather's claims. I wish I could find those posts, or who that Maker was?

Some circles claim him to be controversial at best.....
There are websites about his possibly fraudulent past.

*I'm Not claiming Anything.

But his knife defence is fun to watch. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That's a terrific blade design, Dave! About 3" on that blade? What steel is it?

Thanks! Yeah a touch over 3. Like 3 and a 1/16th or something. AEB-L at 62-63RC. The customer that ordered it has like two or three already so must like em. that sized knife like the Dawson should work great in that sheath.

It could possibly be Bill Siegle’s design originally. I seen that as well.
