Vehement Knives midtech K2 drop!

This one is OG tigerstripe CPM154 with satin-finish double-black canvas micarta, red liners, and mosaic pins. Skinbender Leatherworks sheath.

Still a bunch available at DLT from what was a 400-500 knife release and the biggest drop of VK midtechs ever. Don't miss out on these, they are fantastic and hard to come by. Finished and sharpened by the VK shop, midtech work done by White River Knife and Tool.

^ Those seem to be about same size as a CPK Basic and Busse kin Ratmandu. Nice looking knives but for the price and the steel they just don't excite me. I know they have a cult following, maybe I would change my mind if I had one in hand.

I am a little cult-y about them. They're very much like CPK in a way. They have a relatively small and rabid fan base, and they sell everything they can make. The maker keeps the retail and custom book prices down, but resale values are all at or greater than retail. All of the midtechs trade fairly briskly at 50% or 100% over retail within a year or two of becoming unavailable, and any VK custom can be sold instantly for the same markup. They've been good investments to me. I don't have a pressing need for tough fixed blades in my daily life, but CPK would get the nod if I needed one for pure work.

They're not tough in the way that CPK is tough and designed for pure function. The overbuilt, take-any-abuse isn't their oeuvre, although they're still tough knives within the realm of reasonable military or hunting field use.

Vehement's kind of niche is making high-quality knives that are replicas of or inspired by historical military knives of the 20th century. They have stellar fit and finish, and are also similar to CPK in the sense that the handles melt into your hand.

VK and CPK are the only makers where I will buy just about anything they make, because I'm sure it'll be amazing and because if somehow I didn't like it, I'd be able to sell it very quickly at no loss.

Still, no knife company or maker is to everyone's taste.

I follow DLT insiders and there was talk of this drop. I too am surprised there are some left on DLT. Wonder if the economy (Biden Economics) is finally catching up to people. Sure hurts when you go to Walmart for groceries and it costs $400 when it used to cost $200.

Definitely. I would have gotten more than one, except there's Twelve Days of Christmas, at least one of which will be more VKs of some sort, and DLT is just trolling one temptation after another at basically the most difficult time of the year for money, even though I knew about it from two years ago and kind of planned and saved around it. I think between the seasonal economics of everyone spending for the holidays, and the Bidenomics inflation combined with the 'free' money running out, that everyone might just be pretty tapped out for discretionary spending for the year.

Heck of a lot of dealers and makers are really trying to get the last penny out of us, though, there's a ton of really cool stuff, exclusives, or hard-to-get things coming out over the last month and a half of the year.

I still spend $200 for groceries... just now it gets me two bags instead of a full cart. :/

Not the most sexy knife, but I love it - wife, not girlfriend material :)

Well, don't shoot me for agreeing 🤣 but I've never been attracted to that design. I understand the utilitarian nature of it. Lol
