Fixed blades

Looks unhappy in an office environment... You should probably send it back here so it can get more fresh air and sunshine. 🤣
🤣 We can arrange another play date where you show this baby some love! She's the kinda girl that does well in a variety of situations, take her to the woods or bring her to the city, use her hard and she's faithful as a dog!

My name is Chris and I have a problem lol

Incoming custom "Mjolnir" in 1/4" AEB-L. Very excited about this one, also about the sheath and carry method. New photos from Paul:

Truth be told, you probably get more outdoor play time than I do. My free time has been a bit scarce if late.

You definitely get more outdoor time given your profession, I'm tad bit jelly you get to use knives regularly. Unfortunately I'm low on free time too. We got an ice storm headed our way next week.. the joy of winter. Spring time I'm gonna try and get out with the family and camp.

I use the DEK2 often at work. I just landed a cushy gig at a public works department.

Pretty slimy to make a comment like that, imo. If you don’t care for a knife posted, you can scroll past it.
Slimy??? I'm not trying to hurt his feelings. That's just my opinion. I've got my grail knife, and he may feel the same way about his.

Howdy, and welcome to BladeForums. It looks like you're new here so you may not be familiar with certain unwritten rules of etiquette around the forums. In general, we try to be positive amongst each other, unless someone asks for honest feedback - in which case tactful candor is appreciated. It is generally frowned upon to rain on someone's parade and post unsolicited negative comments. People here are usually thick skinned, but most of us log in to socialize (albeit digitally) with other addicts and share common interests and appreciation for cutlery. Unsolicited negative comments negate that intention.

A good rule of thumb is, if you don't have something nice to say, then it's best left unsaid. This thread in another forum may be helpful to pick up on expected decorum:

Again, welcome to BF. Poke around a bit and chime in where you can. There's lots of great info here.

I'd take my Sog Seal FX over that any day.
Respectfully, the sog isn't in the same class as the bodyguard. We're talking about a knife that is handmade; one at a time, from start to finish by a world renowned knife maker. The attention to detail from every contour to the hamon/expertly done heat treat.

That sog was mass produced, where in the heat treat oven was it located? In the giant batch of knives it was with when it was put into the oven, was it far off to the side? Did it receive a slightly hotter or cooler spot in the oven?

Each bodyguard is tested for performance by Ben Seward before it leaves his hands. If there's a flaw in the steel, he finds it BEFORE it gets to the end user. Is each sog treated with this level of care and scrutiny? No.

Now, I'm not knocking sog, but comparing the 2 knives is kinda funny. 20211228_180303.jpg
