Thanks brother Roland

Did mr.bowie steel (lol) a pattern from the hudson bay company 🤣

Interesting, to date I've never seen a patten in use attributed to HBC. I'd wager as fur traders they used many knives, but if I'm not mistaken they bought the furs, the indians and trappers hunted the animals and processed them. So which knives did the traders use?

Probably some unrelated advertising exec who never got his merit badge....

Facts: The Hudson Bay Knaf was originally designed by Mordechi Luther Boowie in 1792 A.D, Year of Our Lord. A well-worn example of this popular knaf was passed down through generations of Boowies, even though they eventually dropped one of the "o's" in their surname. It was Ebenezer Cleveland Bowie who first shared this knife design with his son, Rezin, who at that time was a struggling butter knaf maker. It was this simple act that changed the course of knaf history.

So yes, there is a connection.

Finally got around to carrying and using a knife someone was kind enough to send me to check out. I really dig the size, weight and balance of it. Cuts well and handles well. Did some carving with it and breaking down a little hickory for a brisket tomorrow. Picked up the tiniest chip/roll which I wasn't expecting out the superest of super steels. 😁

As expected, I did not care for the g10...just too slick for me. As much as I liked the knife, that alone will prevent me from picking one up. Also not a huge fan of stainless. What can I say? I like how a nice m4/3v cuts and performs and m4 especially develops a patina over time. The proud screws weren't my favorite either, but that certainly isn't a deal breaker.

Thanks again for the letting me try out the knife, luethge luethge .

I could believe Everything you brought up.....g10 just feels weird

Just doing a size comparison of my CPK knives - I used to have 4 blade lengths, but I'm down to 3 sizes - extra small, small, and medium (EDC in 4V, DEK2 in 3V, Basic 5 or FK5 in Cruwear), now that the UF2 is gone again. (although I'm keeping a spare DEK 1 & 2). PS: thanks for the great leather duramax duramax

My 2.75" Paisano is "petite extra small" vs the EDC1, which itself is smaller than my open Chris Reeve Inkosi (not pictured).

Is there anyone in the USA who can make a thin and reasonably priced EDC pocket sheath in kydex/boltaron etc (or leather) without a belt loop, and without having to ship the knife to them? This one has the loop built in, and I don't want to cut it off.

Pretty excited that I ordered the Architect 6.5 today and it’s already shipped. This one in Magnacut was just released today at noon.

Pics from when I built it online.

Actual pics coming soon.

WOW! I ordered the exact same knife from them. Not sure but I think I even got the same sheath but not sure. You ordered yours first though. I didn't order mine until much later in the day. Great looking knife.

Check with Al .... he might have either EDC or EDC2 in house and sheath-wise they might be compatible.

You could also just cut yours and replace two (?) rivets ?

I built a few of these deep insert pocket sheaths for the EDC2. The one pictured was one of the protos for it
