Fixed blades

I just spent an hour typing-up the story of my history/love of Pilot/Crewman/Aircrew knives but deleted it. (*It was about 10 pages-worth of longwinded boredom)

"Cliff's Notes" version/"long story short", I LOVE Pilot/Crewman/Aircrew knives, scored two ASEK blade blanks several months back, and went looking for a Maker who could combine everything I love about the Camillus PSK, and the Ontario 499 and ASEK knives, and eliminate everything I didn't like.

Roland, Kyle, and Damien were my "Braintrust"/"Cheerleading Section", and joined me along my journey. In many back & forth "messages", they unselfishly shared their opinions and input along my weeks-long journey to these knives.

@cardman (*Tyler Smith) was the Maker I chose. In my humble opinion, he produced a couple of MASTERPIECES. (*We spent weeks discussing specs, dimensions, aesthetics, etc.)

They're just a bit softer than I requested, but still within the protocol for 1095.

I haven't had them out in the wilderness yet. However, if they perform even close to their beauty, these promise to be some GREAT knives...

First off, these are the two knives that served as my inspiration... (*the Ontario "499" and "ASEK")

Here is what Tyler produced. Since I'm "Jeff" (*and go by "J.J."), I've affectionately dubbed both of them a "JSEK""...

Here they are with the two knives that served as their "Muses"...

That’s badass! Have you had a chance to get out with one yet?

Thanks!

I have not yet had a chance to "play" with 'em.

I'm currently dealing with a 9yo puppy-dog (*the LOVE of my life) who needs three separate surgeries. She goes in for the first two operations on Monday, 4 March. After that, they won't cut on her for about a month or two. (*to let her little "fat body" heal)

I'm hoping that, around the middle of next month, I'll get a chance to "test" and beat on them, out in "the wild".

Believe it or not, the "G.I." ASEK is a pretty robust little knife for what it is... (*a small, over-molded, "hidden tang" knife)

Hopes for a fast and complete recovery from each of the puppy's surgeries

Thanks!

Good luck to you guys.

Thanks SO MUCH, Brother.

She'll always be my puppy, but she ain't exactly a "puppy" anymore. (*She's nine years old)

She's tubby, but small. She only has so much real estate that they can cut on. :(
They always are a puppy or kitten(my case) no matter what the age.
I know what you mean about being tubby. One of my calicos was that way.

Did you say, "tubby", "puppy", and "kitten"?

Here's the tubby "puppy" in question, keeping one foot on her "kitten" (*lest someone steal the kitty while she's napping), all while her right ear intercepts crucial Russian radio transmissions in the Ukraine...

I had a calico that was tubby. Squatty body, round belly. She was a sweetheart.
Adorable photo
