Fixed blades

Until Ms. Wild Willie let the wind out of my sails I was trying to run the kids into the dirt doing firewood... No school means hard labor. 🤣

Then I get: "Remember you have hair appointments today."

So, now all the time I put in getting a fire lit out in the slushy muckyness that is my driveway during a thaw has been for naught... Adulting sucks.

I know guys switch up their carry all the time and I respect that too, but I'm not really a switcher once I really like a knife. So I'll be boring you guys with this one for awhile lol

When I'm home all take pics of others tho to keep it spicy.
I'm one of those predictable types myself... I'm always afraid that if I carry something different I'll miss doing something amazing with a favorite.

Not that anything amazing ever happens, my life is almost as predictable as my daily carry. 🤣

I know what you mean. I do not switch up my carry a lot. I find a pattern, buck 110, lb7... and stick with it.
Nothing boring about thar knife

That would be awesome! How's it compare to 15n20?
Hell yea I'll send you a pm.

For what ever the reason, and this could be because I only had a limited time with your 15n20 blade, I feel like 52100 takes a sharper edge easier. It's tough stuff, and can be taken pretty damn thin and still be durable. It will patina nicely, I haven't used 15n20 in acidic things so I can't compare how it behaves vs 52100.

I'll let you be the judge, I think you'll love 52100. I've whooped on it hard.

I just spent an hour typing-up the story of my history/love of Pilot/Crewman/Aircrew knives but deleted it. (*It was about 10 pages-worth of longwinded boredom)

"Cliff's Notes" version/"long story short", I LOVE Pilot/Crewman/Aircrew knives, scored two ASEK blade blanks several months back, and went looking for a Maker who could combine everything I love about the Camillus PSK, and the Ontario 499 and ASEK knives, and eliminate everything I didn't like.

Roland, Kyle, and Damien were my "Braintrust"/"Cheerleading Section", and joined me along my journey. In many back & forth "messages", they unselfishly shared their opinions and input along my weeks-long journey to these knives.

cardman cardman (*Tyler Smith) was the Maker I chose. In my humble opinion, he produced a couple of MASTERPIECES. (*We spent weeks discussing specs, dimensions, aesthetics, etc.)

They're just a bit softer than I requested, but still within the protocol for 1095.

I haven't had them out in the wilderness yet. However, if they perform even close to their beauty, these promise to be some GREAT knives...

First off, these are the two knives that served as my inspiration... (*the Ontario "499" and "ASEK")

Here is what Tyler produced. Since I'm "Jeff" (*and go by "J.J."), I've affectionately dubbed both of them a "JSEK""...

Here they are with the two knives that served as their "Muses"...

There is something magical about using a knife, you’ve used a few thousand times. It’s like it is another finger. You know were the edge is, you know were the tip is even if your eyes are closed.

When you get like that with one knife. Using any other knife is like wearing someone else’s underwear. It works but it doesn’t feel right.

It’s a strange experience. Very Zen like. People who switch a lot never experience that.
