Where did you get those scales from? I would love to have a set made for myself… Thanks!I seem to appreciate my fixed blades more than my folders. This Falkniven A1X, that I had flat ground and G-10 scales made is one of my favorites.

Thanks! That's a sweet knife too. Love Ron's work. Incredible details.I fell in love with the small Bowie John Doyle posted recently. It reminds me of my "Sherrif's" knife by Ron Newton. Interesting that I took my photo in 2019. great minds.

That knife is beautiful! Truly impressed sir!Need to bring this thread back to the front page.
I was going to post this in the "game" thread in light of our levergun/cowboy stuff side conversation but thought I'd put it here.
This was my take on a cowboy belt knife or gambler's bowie. It took a fair amount of design work and it was as complicated as any folder I've ever made. Going from memory, there's something like 25 pieces total and it's fully take down but assembles rock solid. As I designed it and built it, I wasn't sure I'd like it but I really did. So much so that I want to do another one.

Now the rifle?.......that's an authentic 1873 Winchester in .44-40 that was made and purchased new in 1876 by my great x4 grandfather and passed down from generation to generation. It is currently in my dad's possession and is in functioning condition.
What a beauty John! This one features all my favorite handle materials. I love bronze with African blackwood and I so like curly maple. This is solid curly maple pieces inlaid (by hand) into a solid African blackwood block then bored out for the tang.
