Fixed blades

I have over 20 Bowie knifes and this one is my favorite.

I could never figure out: WTF are those spike looking things for?
They advertised it as a grappling hook as well as like to anchor down supplies under water when the navy seal was hiding. That’s what I been told. But it pretty much was a gimmick Buck made in the 80s when they had the military contract but lost it because the knife was to heavy so seals complained

I get you and it was Buck. That’s why they lost their military contract.

That has me nostalgic for the Buck 189 intrepid tanto that I bought in the 90s. My friend immediately dubbed it the "death to all mankind knife". It had a defect and I ended up getting my money back rather than a replacement.
