A friend who was a SEAL carried a W-49 and a 22oz Tru-Temper hand ax in Viet Nam. I've always liked the knife, just never got one. Kind of a shame when they went to stainless steel for the blade. I'd like to find a nice carbon steel W-49. There's a gun show this weekend, so maybe....
