It is indeed glass. Apparently from a broken display case somewhere hereabouts. The guy that gave it to me didn't remember exactly where, but I'd imagine that after 35 years of knapping and accumulating material it gets tough to keep track of.What material is that?

Very interesting - I've not seen glass used for this kind of crafting. It is indeed glass. Apparently from a broken display case somewhere hereabouts. It also looks like you have some blood on your hand?

Almost all of the points I've made get bled on, it's part of the knapping experience.Very interesting - I've not seen glass used for this kind of crafting.
Looks cool and like you may have baptized this one in some blood, too?
Thanks for sharing the photo.
Oh definitely, my left hand gets pretty chewed up by flakes. Have to dig shards out pretty frequently too. I should probably wear a glove or something, but it cuts down on my ability to feel what I'm doing. It also looks like you have some blood on your hand?
It sure does. My edged tool hobbies make me worry about what would happen if my kitchen were ever sprayed with luminol.Blood makes the grass grow,Wild Willie .
Gotta play through the pain.
Well, now I have to know about these fanboy fixies. It sounds like you don't need them, so just send them on to me for recycling. I'll PM my address. After 2.5 years of South Texas drought, I've spent the last week absolutely beating on some of my "Big Name"/expensive/"Fanboy" fixies, on some of our damn-near petrified South Texas wood.
You know what? I think I'll just stick with my trusty well-used/well-beaten/"3-IN-ONE"-soaked 107, as my "End of the World"/"SHTF"/"Zombie Apocalypse" knife.
YMMV...
