Hey did you review a MMHW camp hatchet? I thought I saw a review you did on their site? Did you choose the hollow ground or traditional (I assume convexed)? Wondering which would be better.holy shiznit!
Didn’t have a camp hatchet, but I had one of their cleavers. It had the convex edge and was good for chopping.Hey did you review a MMHW camp hatchet? I thought I saw a review you did on their site? Did you choose the hollow ground or traditional (I assume convexed)? Wondering which would be better.
Got it, yeah I don't know the difference between a camp hatchet and a cleaver really hahahah... I just remembered it seemed like a smaller piece. If I order one, I will get the HG, I was leaning towards trying a hollow grind since I never saw them offer a choice before. This look insanely cool.Didn’t have a camp hatchet, but I had one of their cleavers. It had the convex edge and was good for chopping.
Yeah that cleaver is damn cool. It’s not small either. I gave mine to my best bud as a birthday present. He liked it when I showed it to him once when he was at the house. I figured he’d like it.Got it, yeah I don't know the difference between a camp hatchet and a cleaver really hahahah... I just remembered it seemed like a smaller piece. Got a order in - what a bargain. That large tanto chopper I had was scary. Super sharp and was like a boat anchor it was so huge. At 13" (5.5" blade) this is actually not that small. Hopefully it will chop through dead palm branches or it'll be better than my OKC cleaver in the kitchen I am sure.

Idk anything about bear skinning....
But a guy at work who hunts, kills, and traps everything, his wife got a bear recently and he used a knife I originally made him for doing detailed work for trapping. I wouldn't think it would be good for dressing bear meat? But he said he worked it for over 5 hours and still remained crazy sharp.....now his taxidermist wants something too? Ugh!

The edge looks awesome. What tools did you use to get it?

It's not really close to me, but I've been there a handful of times.....if you are traveling between Milwaukee and Madison, it's a Must stop.
Pinecone Truck stop & Bakery.
I-94 and HWY 26, Exit No. 267

I would answer whatever is traditional, if there is a certain way?
This place is not a new, clean, up to date modern restaurant. It was probably did in the 60's?
It's been a few years since I've been there, but it's kinda dark. Woods, and brown dated colors.
A place for Truckers. Real truckers to get a meal, doughnut, a coffee, and a smile......
