Fixed blades

Can finally carry this thing. Gonna see what she can do this weekend.

It can't do much. What it can do is be put in a box and mailed to me😅

First thing, check it's banana worthiness, being as it isn't a tanto it's sus on how it will perform.

Then sharpen it up and eat the burr.

Lastly chop some (Ideally yours but any will do) poop before you bury said poop.

Wtf you on about
That is exactly how I felt about those things as well lol been a head scratcher around this joint lately. Banana tanto was like 10 years ago but it's a classic. It's not even worth looking up these things if you didn't watch them go down, it's a chuckle for most of us who did though.

Hiking setup - flat of the back carry and quick to draw 🥇
I'll post up my hiking setup later, I was just thinking about which knife I'd use as my main hiking blade, I'll be headed to a waterfall on a fairly arduous hike in the next day or so, maybe several waterfalls actually some of which aren't on maintained trails/or trails at all. I really dig where you mounted the blade.

Agreed...... Great placement!👌

Just blows my mind how Busse won’t include a kydex sheath with their knives. Probably why I only buy them on the secondary market now and only if they come with a sheath.
I wish they came with a sheath too. For the price it should, all their competitors some of which have significantly better machining, come with nice sheaths. I get that they have a setup where it benefits others who do make the sheaths though. Can't knock their hustle though, if they can stay in business charging what they charge and not including a sheath more power to them.

I agree.

As a Seller (*and from personal experience), you get beatin' to death on the Busses, when selling them. Most guys look-up the original price and seem to wonder why, not only are you not selling the knife at a discount, but are adding $80-$100 on the price.

I find myself thinking, "Bruh, the included sheath wasn't given to me by Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy."

Agreed. Especially with how affordable the sheaths on their website are. I’m not gonna pretend I know their profit margin or say they’re overpriced but surely they could include a sheath. I’m of the opinion that anyone who makes/sells fixed blades ought to include a sheath of some sort.

For a long while busse was THE name in hard use fixed blades and they didn't have a bunch of competitors. That's changed, and now we have other small batch production companies making and demonstrating hard use blades that are excellently machined and come with a sheath for the same $ roughly. It might eventually motivate busse to include sheaths, but if people buy them without the sheath, it's unlikely for them to change. Depends how hard the competitors cut into busses market.

As far as I can tell, the Gerber "Strongarm" is one of the most polarizing blades on the market.

Despite that, and love it or hate it, it comes with one of the most well thought-out and amazing sheaths on the market...and no smug "expert" opinion is going to change my mind.

Belt, cross-draw, "scout", MOLLE, etc., this sheath has it ALL...

In my humble opinion, if Gerber can get it RIGHT at a $70-$90 price point, there's ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE why a $300-$600 fixie doesn't come with a proper sheath.

Flame-away!!!
