Our very own Gary Graley made this AMAZING belt hanger and fob for my Kizer Deckhand!!
It’s a real thing of beauty and well thought out!!😻
Thank You Gary!! 🤝👍

John 😁
I concur he does GREAT work! Here is one he did for me 2 or 3 years ago, and is worn dailey.
It still looks great with the Leather and Fob Patina a bit darker. And functions like new.

That's a David Mary David Mary custom also in the Picture, and all the words above apply to this 6" overall Knife. I wear it on my belt and put the sheath in my RR pocket.

Oh.... I'm a couple days Late, seeing this??? Idk how I missed it

Is it really that dark, now? Or is it the lighting? Haha maybe with lime juice and 8670....... She looks really used & loved. I like seeing blotches, scratches, and smudges...... Beautiful. Great Pic.

*edit
I had to delete a comment, I first thought those were Limes.......
Thick Ass blade for cutting apples

Not that dark, but patina is forming. I’ve beaten that knife into logs, knots, cutting boards and a lot of cardboard.. no chips, no rolls, still shaves after a stropping. That knife is like an all terrain kitchen / combat / camp tool. You grind a mean convex 👍

All that and no bikini?

Tease...

Bruh. You're "dating" yourself. 😄

Guys, please forgive me for posting this in a "Fixed blade" thread...

My Mom is dying of Alzheimer's. Her age has finally eclipsed her weight. She's 83yo, bedridden, and weighs 81 pounds soaking wet. Man, she's a skeleton...nothing but skin & bones.

Mom was a "walking jukebox" of popular and obscure music. She singlehandedly introduced me to the sounds of the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

When I was a just a kid in the 70's, she bought me a "Ronco" compilation album (*33 RPM "vinyl") that had such songs as "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" (*Brian Hyland), "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah" (*Allan Sherman), "Lil' Red Riding Hood" (*Sam the Sham & The Pharaohs), "Junk Food Junkie" (*Larry Groce), "Monster Mash" (*Bobby Pickett), and the like.

Your post took me back to listening to that album, OVER AND OVER, as a kid... ❤️

Alone Alone I can relate, my mom's got Alzheimers too. She's still living by herself with some professional help, but won;t be long I think before she'll needs to move to a nursing home. She's depressed as she realizes what her future will be... horrible disease. Stay strong my friend. Going out with my dog and my knives takes my mind away from the sadness... for a bit.

Today I had a coffee-break with Grim this afternoon.
Brought the Mora Kansbol and the Firebox Nano to have a relaxing time.

A Yakut knife with a pinned tang? Do you have a unicorn hidden in your closet too?

On the subject: how do you like using the Yakut knife? Is the blade shape and geometry useful in daily life or does it only have an advantage for a few specific tasks?

Pardon my curiosity, I'm a little fascinated by the style.
Sorry, English is not my native language.
Let me try to explain. I bought a Yakut knife three times. I sold a Yakut knife three times. This is knife number four. The Yakut knife is a very popular brand in Russia. But it is not universal. And you need to get used to it. This knife is good for thin slicing. But God forbid you cut a carrot or a piece of frozen lard in two with it. This knife is good at slicing wood. But a Finnish knife will do a better job.
I will keep this fourth knife for the collection. But this is not the knife that I will take on a hike or fishing.
