You should bring the style back for a limited run.
I agree withcbach8tw . I'd be down for one!
Just goes to show how good your knives are, they hardly ever come up for sale on rhe secondary market. Serve their users well.
Thanks guys! I am ordering some steel here shortly I don't see why we couldn't make a few El Toros if folks were interested. its similar in size and shape to the Sonoran Hunter and that one just kinda took that slot over.I wonder what caused the old sheath to lose one stitch by the belt slot.
No doubt!Stitch gremlins.
How to make everyone want one !a blade style I don't even make anymore
I love Rosewood. Not sure why more knife makers don’t use it more.
Can I sell ya a watch? I have a bunch under my jacket here............How to make everyone want one !![]()
Nah, I'm holding out for a bridge. Can I sell ya a watch? I have a bunch under my jacket here............
I remember when that was a do all pouch for most low torque uses
A bridge for the swamp land.Nah, I'm holding out for a bridge.
David Nowlin I have never had lacewood in hand, but I have multiple examples of leopardwood in the shop and have used it a few times over the years as well. One thing I always noticed with my leopardwood examples was the larger lighter colored spots, which I don't see in your example. Sometimes the grain was a little tighter, but even on those the spots always presented a little larger than in your knife's handle. That and I have heard that leopardwood and lacewood are often mistaken for each other is the only reason I asked. Yours must be tighter grained leopardwood than examples I have had my hands on. In any case the knife is beautiful!

I think Winkler knows way more than i when it comes to the identification of the wood he uses on his knives?

ETA: looks like I did have lacewood in hand once.... five and a half years ago

They aren’t even close on the Janka hardness scale so those that work with it probably can tell the difference that way too? But i really don’t know and your question has caused me to learn more about knives. And that’s a good thing.

What is that one? Can’t place it, but looks cool.
That’s a damn good lookin’ knife. Those charts are a good reference
But sometimes wood doesn't fit right on the charts....I have a small stash of cherry cut from a friends parents. It's Different. Hard as F!!!
Harder that any maple. Harder than oak. Burns every cut. Seriously hard. I wanna get more.
This knife is leopard wood. It's obviously hard too. The splinters are nasty when making it, Really stab ya.
Condor Operator Bowie I thinkWhat is that one? Can’t place it, but looks cool.
