Fixed blades

Something a lil different. I call this one a Poco Cowboy Toothpick. It's similar in shape to my Cowboy Toothpick but the dimensions are different, this being noticeably smaller. Think of it as a scalpel you can carry around in a pocket or on your belt.

In Black Walnut, from Home Depot of all places. Left over from a shelving project some years back.

Its Slotted sheath. Drop it in a pocket or wear it on your belt.

Very nice! Which micarta?

I haven't quite decided...?
I have a few different drop offs.

Maybe from these two.
-any suggestions?

First 2 pics are one style, the last three are from an older knife.

Both materials are kinda unique, and would look Awesome on my knife

Looks great.

Very nice. What do you mean by "Ranged 320 yard shot" (wish we had hogs on our range !) ? Just wondering. Thanks !
They used a rangefinder to determine how far the shot was and thus adjust hold. Most guys that have those wild pigs might wish they didn't. I know from our ranching perspective they were very destructive. Industrial rototillers those wild hogs and heck on fences. If you found a freeway size hole in your fence it was pigs. ya could tell cause they'd always break the bottom two strands. But they'd do it over a wide area, like a whole herd had gone through....well because a whole herd had gone through.

Some of these larger ranches have kinda got a symbiotic relationship with them as they lease the hunting rights to different outfitters. Particularly true in the coastal range here in Ca. They'll be growing grain on their relatively flat ground and running cattle on the rest and hunters guided by the outfitters help pay the bills. And these ranches are big enough that the hunter is not shooting some pig in a pen that was put there for ya to shoot. They truly are hunts. I can see parts of the largest ranch here in Ca when I'm grinding knives. It's 270,000 acres of private ground. Even if ya knew where the pigs were yesterday they ain't gonna be there today!

Couple more of those Elk Guides in the works:

Nice! You ebonized the handles? How did you do the tool marks on the blade?
Thanks.
It was a special release from opinel. It kind of came out of nowhere for me and by the time i was aware of its existence there were only 2 left anywhere. Very reasonably priced compared to their last special release with the laminated vg7 blade and curly maple handle. This one has real ebony and a forged carbon steel blade. I think it was called no. 8 Forged or something like that. It is the same size as a regular number 8.

Thanks. Guess I won't be trying that on my own, then.

TMI,
So, my daughter is dating a fairly great kid....
Everything you'd want for your kid. Really good.
Even the family is good.
They are very generous with my daughter.
They spend more on her than I can. They go out a lot, to nice places....all that's fine. My kid is a Catch, he's lucky to be dating her.....too.

We are getting him some presents for Christmas, but it's going to be little stuff.
Idk if I'm making more out of this than I need to???

Me personally, I Don't like receiving gifts.
I think it's from my upbringing. Not great.
I also don't like feeling that I'm dead weight, unproductive, being a freeloader. I Always have to feel like I'm carrying my weight.
I Hate being/feeling Poor. I Always want to Give more than I get. In every way.... I probably have a few different complexes. Ha!

Again, idk if I'm Crazy?
I decided to make his parents a nice chef's knife (for Her to give them) it's not from me.
It's just a little something....and something that money can't, or doesn't just get to buy.
-it might be Only me...but I feel giving/getting a knife IS Special. I don't want my daughter to feel less in Any way.

I hope they like it.
It might be my sharpest knife made to date?
Very Sharp.

64HRC AEB-L, Lunar linen, vintage Westinghouse, and black vulcanized liners. I still need to do some subtle handle sanding, and clean up, but I really like it so far.
