Fixed blades

Love the size and shape of that one.

Thank You...it's pretty big, around 7" blade.
Yet, it will carry well IWB. Prob @ 5 o- clock.
I have a rotary platen now, so my grinds are looking cleaner.
I don't usually think much of 3v, it's ok...
But I feel This one is going to be Really Nice.

TMI,
So, my daughter is dating a fairly great kid....
Everything you'd want for your kid. Really good.
Even the family is good.
They are very generous with my daughter.
They spend more on her than I can. They go out a lot, to nice places....all that's fine. My kid is a Catch, he's lucky to be dating her.....too.

We are getting him some presents for Christmas, but it's going to be little stuff.
Idk if I'm making more out of this than I need to???

Me personally, I Don't like receiving gifts.
I think it's from my upbringing. Not great.
I also don't like feeling that I'm dead weight, unproductive, being a freeloader. I Always have to feel like I'm carrying my weight.
I Hate being/feeling Poor. I Always want to Give more than I get. In every way.... I probably have a few different complexes. Ha!

Again, idk if I'm Crazy?
I decided to make his parents a nice chef's knife (for Her to give them) it's not from me.
It's just a little something....and something that money can't, or doesn't just get to buy.
-it might be Only me...but I feel giving/getting a knife IS Special. I don't want my daughter to feel less in Any way.

I hope they like it.
It might be my sharpest knife made to date?
Very Sharp.

64HRC AEB-L, Lunar linen, vintage Westinghouse, and black vulcanized liners. I still need to do some subtle handle sanding, and clean up, but I really like it so far.
I think this shape/size is my favorite of any you've posted. Would look great with antique ivory micarta.

Being completely honest- I think handcrafted gifts mean more than anything off a shelf. Even non-knife people can appreciate a quality blade, and anyone who has even a clue what went in to crafting that knife will treasure it.

I think it is an awesome gift, as well as shows a great gesture of support for your daughter and her boyfriend. Very cool!

That's super kind of You.....and Everybody, actually. Thank You All.....so much!!!

I'll post more once it's officially done. In a couple days

It seems like a great gift - but moreover a fitting one. The way you describe their family it seems like a gift of which they’ll see the true value.

Fantastic knife. They may likely be ignorant of the nuances of a quality hand made knife, but if they don't appreciate it on its face presentation there is something wrong with them.

A gift from the heart is usually always recognized and valued especially when made by known hands!!!😉😉

My 2 cents, we can't always compete financially with the jones' ( tho these people sounds great) but, any adult human who has had real life experiences will come to value the content of ones character for the people around them, more than anything else.

Marrying, you get the family as well as the person, and judging off what I've seen any family would be lucky to marry into yours. You made a gorgeous knife and I think they’ll appreciate it so give it with confidence and know beyond the knife, they are getting something that can't be bought, I'd wager they know that. Congrats on raising an amazing kid.

Also, shameless plug, keep me in mind too 🤣

Ya got time to make a Slip Sheath for it? I can walk ya through it. Hands on time for me to do one, (some drying time too), maybe ten minutes. I've worked out a formula that gives a great fit on any kitchen knife:

Be glad to help ya out if ya've got some leather. Great gift btw, nice job!
