The blades are AEB-L at 62/63 RC with the heat treat done by Peters. The handles are Desert Ironwood with Buckeye Burl spacers:

Thanks when ya get gas some veg tan leather let me know and we'll get a hooked up with building slip sheaths. If that kitchen knife ya built is local ya only need to borrow it for a day.

Oh....I'm going to make some leather on more than just that one..... haha.

Update:the son (my daughter's BF) made the family a wooden cutting board for Christmas, too. He's in HS woodshop. The family LOVES them both ... probably is afraid to Use them.

I’d call it a perfectly executed all purpose edc. I imagine that one carves pretty well. Beautiful work

Fully agree.
The lack of the Scandi grind makes calling it a "puukko" a bit confusing. How about "peape" (See luethge's post, above.)

Real puukkot have high flat zero grinds with a micro bevel. What they don't have is full exposed tang with slab handles.....

Having to rehash some of my old fixed blade pics as I am in the Philippines and cleaning up the other half of my collection of fixed blades

Some neat internal storage inside the handle, did quite nicely in hard cherry yesterday.
