My new 22" long BIG bowie made by Daado , in .335" thick 6150 steel forged to shape and its pants, made in 4,5 mm thick cow leather hand sewn with settle stitch. Handle is black G-10 fixed with G-flex epoxy and Loveless bolts. Made to last!

Lagom. Ben's Backwoods, Lester River Bushcraft, and LT Wright Knives collab. O1 steel, Scandinavian grind, 90 deg spine, micarta, very good/functional leather sheath. I'm anticipating a change in lifestyle that will allow some time in the woods. This along with my LT Wright GNS will serve me well.

Had some coffee outdoors this morning with Grim, brought the Fiskars X5, Mora Robust and Firebox Nano in my pack.

Hard to find dry wood...
chopped of a branch and split it with the X5

Got my fire going with some birchbark, but my wood was very damp, didn't burn well...

So I spend the whole time making shavings to keep the fire going... the Nora Robust worked just a bit quicker for that

But then my water is boiling...

And we have some coffee

Then it's time to move on

Out of my collection this is my favorite. It was made by C.E. Gene Johnson in the mid eighties. It is a Damascus blade and a Hippo tooth for a handle. It is 1 of 1 he confirmed that in the letter in 1999 when I got in touch with him.
