So, I respectfully ask, is this going to be a safe queen or something that will be in the rotation?

No, I’m a longtime Collector and this will be fondled occasionally….I’ve carried the same folder(s) everyday for over 20 years but this will remain a pristine example.

It is not a one handed automatic. I should probably call it an automatic slip joint.

Well, FWIW, this is one reason why I decided against it. The other was the small blade size & the lack of a blade lock.

I know it wouldn't comport w/your GGF's design but have you ever thought of putting a "nail nick" in the blade so that would qualify as a "double action" (even if it's not a "single-handed") auto or can the blade not be opened w/o pulling on the button at the bottom?

It can only be opened by pulling the button. I make it to the original patent design.
