Folder question

Every day all around: Benchmade 710
Light slicer: Benchmade mini griptillian with s30V
Fix-Blade substitute: Benchmade Ruckus
Spyderco Pikal

Recently it has been my Chris Reeve Umnumzaan but I am expecting an XM-18 in the mail today, so that may be changing starting tomorrow...

The Emerson Stonewashed CQC7B is the one for me. I have a Rick Haney Chisel Ground Renegade, his first chisel ground folder :) incoming. The Renegade might bump the 7. We'll see.

Spyderco Centofante 3
Spyderco Milli
Bradley Alias 1
Al Mar Shrike

But I am about to get myself a large Sebenza.

All of my collecting efforts are concentrated on fixed blades, so to me a folder is a utilitarian user, peroid.

My Jeans knife is a Swamp Rat Rat Trap.
My casual dress-up knife is an Al Mar Nomad.
My yard work, heavy abuse folder is a Spyderco Native.
My knife for suit & tie carry is a Reeve Mnandi.

All of these are users.

I have accumulated a couple of folders I do not use and will probably get rid of, as I am not a folder collector. These are a Millenium Large Sebenza and a Ralph Custom
Madd Maxx, Bowie style blade.

I either carry my SMF or my Spyderco Rock Lobster. The Spydie gets more pocket time, by far. Also have my Ritter griptilian, and ZT0301 which get thrown in the mix sometimes.

I LOVE the Anso design on that Rock Lobster. I am SERIOUSLY considering grab one of those, but I would much prefer one of Jens' customs.

I carry one of these Hinderer XM-18's...

I also carry one of these with an "extra" in the safe with an "extra" LunaSol20. Mine are both flippers with orange slabs.

Peter...send me a PM and I'll tell you where you can grab an XM-18.

I carry an emerson cqc8 or a spyderco Military. These days I've been carrying the Milli most!

The ones that get carried the most are...
In order, right pocket..
Small micarta Sebenza
Spyderco Sage II
Spyderco Military
Large micarta Sebenza

In left pocket...
Case Swayback Jack
Case CV mini copperlock

I've been carrying a Milly since they came out, I have a AG Russel 'One Hander' (Cowry-X Damascus :D) in my left pocket.

I rotated the Milly for a CQC-7A recently, got a deal on it and after hagning out with Lycosa in the Emerson forum, I figured I'd give it a try.

Other than that tip up bs, I'm liking it.

and a SAK

My most often carried are:
ZT0300
Kershaw Mini Cyclone ZDP 189
Kershaw Spec Bump

I have, but are afraid to carry:
Hindered XM 18 3in Flipper with red scales
Strider Sng
Kirby Lambert Sniper
Chris Reeve small Sebi with black micarta

I also carry a Custom Shop BAD or a Nuclear EDC.

I do have a couple of suprises coming, that I will share photos of, when they arrive.

I have large hands, so I prefer knives that look like this...

The Hinderer is by far my favorite flavor of the month!!!!!

SNG are nice too...

SICK GRIND armyof1!!!

I like the 3 inch and under folders. So I recommend a 3 inch XM-18, small Micarta Sebenza, BM 940, Spyderco Paramilitary or Caly 3.

I don't have much knowledge about the larger folders, but I wasn't a fan of the 3.5 inch XM-18, but the Spyderco Military is pretty nice.

Keep in mind what you'll use it for. The XM-18 is like the equivalent of a Busse. It is an absolute rock, top shelf craftsmanship, and is EXPENSIVE! Plus Rick is a really nice guy.

3" flipper xm18, CRK umnumzaan, Kershaw mini-cyclone w/ zdp189, Kershaw s30v leek. You might also want to check out the new knife from lionsteel. There is a preorder discount if you pay by the 20th of this month (tomorrow).

My favorite folders among all the ones I tried (benchmades, spydercos, etc) are the CRK Sebenzas:

I have a lot of trust in the Reeve Integral Lock; the Sebs are like a fixed blade when opened

Lately, I've been EDCing this friction folder I made (my first one!):

(yeah - it has a bottle opener at the end of the blade)

zt 300's here, the nearest thing to a busse i've found for the price.

This is a great knife!!! For the money it is hard to beat. I EDC one in my pocket rotation.

I have a nice collection of fixed blades that are $400 plus dollars knives that spend 350 days in a safe....it is nice to have a knife that you can enjoy on a daily basis. Hinderer makes a sweet knife but the after market mark up is sick. About the only way you can get one for under five hundred is to hit him up at a show. Todd Begg makes a nice high end folder that will be one of my next purchases. There are a few on line dealers who have his stuff in stock. Thanks for the kind words about my XM, it is 3.5" bowie armored grind with Carbon fiber scales.
