Folder question

My current folders...

favorite: Hinderer XM-18
next: Strider SnG
next: Rat Trap LE
next: Small Classic Sebenza
next: Victorinox OHT
next: Victorinox Alox Farmer

If I could only have one it would be the XM-18 by a large margin.

Got the XM-18 today. Feels like a winner. First day in pocket tomorrow.

Nice handmade folder Defaultuser, looks great.

Also a very nice hand-ground Hinderer JDRaizor.

It really depends now how much you can spend. If you can afford it I would say for for a Hinderer, or an SMF. CRKs are also a great knife. But all of those are a little pricey. A lower price point would be a ZT 300 series. And then after that, a Benchmade.

Too INFI poor for a Strider.

I carry a Lone Wolf DD or a Benchmade Grippy or Ares.

I really like my Benchmade Doug Ritter Griptilian, although if I were doing it again I would just get the standard Griptilian. 154cm suits me better than s30v. There's someone in the UK making nice scales for them but they're not cheap.

Y'alls got some sweet folders.

Anyone else like me? I work at a "professional" job where any kind of cutting implement besides scissors is generally frowned upon. I used to carry an opinel with a 4 inch blade but one time a coworker referred to it as "that big a-$ knife you used to cut your pear."

If she only knew . . .;)

Now I carry a fallkniven TK3 for my EDC:

Very gentlemanly looking. It's a great slicer for its size and not real scary.

I was thinking of getting one of these. Anyone have experience with this knife or SOG in general? It's a SOG Vulcan.

My first folder was an SOG Trident which has now been relegated to the center console box in my car. It is a decent enough knife, but I daresay if I had to spend that same amount on a knife again I would probably find a Benchmade or Spyderco I like. In terms of production folders, I think Benchmade, Spyderco, Kershaw, then SOG. Just my $.02.

@ikkyo

try plazacutlery.com there's a small chance they will have one in stock, if not they have a list and Mr. Hinderer seems to send batches their way quite often. it took about 3 months to get mine.

What makes the Hinderer better than the C-Reeves knives as far as quality? Or is this just a fad.

When you get into knives in that price range they are all good, it's more personal preference than anything else, they are all very high quality knives. ;)

CRK, Strider, Hinderer, flip a coin. LOL :D
