Folding knives you trust...

Spyderco Para-Military. Hands down my favorite folder. The lock is rock solid the blade stays sharp forever and the handle is just the right size. If I could change anything it would be to move the clip to be a tip up.

I know this knife is not as solid as a fixed blade and it has its limitations. But, I pretty much trust it for just about anything and EDC it every day.

Spyderco Native.

Truth be told, I own very few folding knives. I trust the Native to perform any slicing, cleaning, or carving task that doesn't involve impact or percussion. I tend to carry it places where I think that my Izula might cause the wrong heads to turn.

I am never without an Endura and a SAK. I especially like the waved Enduras. The VG-10 blade steel is great (holds an edge well, sharpens very easily), the blade shape is perfect, and the wave feature is very handy.

Probably going to get skinned alive for replying to this, but I trust my SAKs (both factory and the customs), and I have had excellent luck with my Kershaw Mini Cyclone, and Cyclone.

I trust any Spyderco, Strider or Emerson folder that I have. I hope to add a CRK(small classic) VERY soon to that list.

Kershaw E.T. is the folder I go to if I have any concern about a lock at all. Just have to remember that it is a slicer. Blade has a very thin grind and tip.

I traded into a spyderco military for a little while. I traded the knife back to the same person for another fixed blade. I decided that me and folders are just not meant to be. That said, I do like saks. I consider SAKs more multi-tools than I do as knives, but I like SAKs better than plier-multitools. I certainly would feel quite comfy with a Farmer, soldier, camper or rucksack model in my pocket while camping.

One other sheathed folder that sees action during hunting season is my grohmann:

You are going to have a hard time coming up with a test that is going to make a Buck 112 fail before most of the knives mentioned in this thread. Not that they are not great knives, but the 112 locks don't fail, they hold an excellent edge, the points don't break and you can beat them to holy he!! and they will come back for more.

The 110 is great also, but the 112 is a powerhouse in a small package. Synthetic handle knives need not apply for this testing.

I trust a SAK, and my buck 110 more than any of my folding knives. I have quite a few, but if I had to have one, if would be either a 110, or a SAK for their multitude of uses.

My EDC is a Benchmade assisted open D2 Stryker. I've carried it for almost three years now and I am fully convinced that it will hold it's place as my EDC folder for the rest of my life. This thing is bomb-proof. I'll be honest, I've abused the hell out of it and it's still going strong. I've used it for everything from prying open jammed humvee doors to turning rusted screws to dressing wild hog and holding up paper for target practice like it was a giant thumbtack. Haven't considered another folder since and don't think I'll ever need to.

I have several and they are made to work! Great folder. It's a liner lock but a beefy one that will never fail or close on your fingers. Can't say enough about these.

buck 110 is the knife equivilent of the reliable old 30/30 for deer. Sure you can pay more for fancier knives or guns but i'd be willing to bet this combo has put more wild game on american tables than any others.

The deer don't know if he was killed by a $5k rifle or the humble old 30/30 and he surely won't care if he's dressed out with a $30 110 from wally world instead of a high dollar knife.

well said....cheers

I've always liked the Spyderco Endura 4. Simple, fool-proof design with a time tested lock, the lock-back.

If it is during camping and hiking or just for performing daily tasks, my SAK's never failed to do what I wanted them to do, a SAK is always with me. An other folder that I really trust is the Friedrich Herder working knife that I own for over 15 years now. And I also trust my Buck 450RD, which I've used recently during cleaning up old wood around my father his farm.

My traditional favorite is the Buck 110 - never had a failure in any of them. You can get them in S30V from Cabela's (Alaskan Guide) or CPM154 (Bass Pro) for <$75. I am a recent convert from my older traditional Vic SAK, an older 'Craftsman', to the 'Farmer' - great combo of actually useful 'tools'.

This past summer found me getting a few Benchmades I had been wanting, after a long hiatus due to my first two BMs arriving NIB duller than a butter knife. I have to admit, I love my 610 Rukus - big useful S30V blade. A 'bushcraft' folder, albeit an AXIS lock. Thus far, I am impressed with it. Great feel in the hand. It - and the Farmer may be the pocket pair. It is compared below with a Kershaw Ti/SG-2 Junkyard Dog II - not a small knife, either.

Soon, the 610 Rukus, and it's mini-sibling 615, will be about as hard to find as that Ti/SG-2 JYDII - they've been dropped!

PS I've always used a 110 as a knife - not a screwdriver or prybar - possibly explains their, and other knives', longevity here.

I still have and carry the same 110 I bought in 197.....2 ?:grumpy:
I'm old.
Cleaned a lot of critters with that one.
I mostly tote an Alpha hunter with rubber grips these years.Easier to clean and is a better skinner.

I trust my Buck 110 !!! I absolutely love it :D
Also the Benchmade Griptilian,Case Trapper,ALOX and locking SAK's ;)

My razor sharp Spyderco Military never disappointed me.
Great knife for any outdoor use. The flat ground, broad blade is perfect for cutting fish or skinning game.
