I'll break it down: I consider the intent of a poll to gather information. I did not "correct" anyone, I stated an option that most accurately reflected the information I wished to provide, which was a form of participation.

And where you assumed the intent was to insult you, it was not. It was to point out that you turn towards insulting others as soon as they disagree with your perspective.

The irony in someone upset because I said I was able to answer the poll without squabbling over petty details bickering with me over petty details must be lost on you.
