Bigbore,

Re. The monthly giveaway.

That's not my idea... that's the way it has been working, or had been working. Things have gotten a little confused during the last couple of months.

N2S

Ps. the offcial rules read as follow:

"Well, unfortunately, there are some details that have to be addressed.

1. Though we are trying to give everyone a knife, we can't give everyone a knife at once, nor are we obligated to give you a knife if you haven't been chosen.

2. If you are selected to receive a knife, we will need your real name and address so that it can be shipped to you. Your information will not be used for commercial purposes.

3. Certain items can only be given to qualified individuals, for example, automatic knives. Given the legal quandries that this entails, we reserve the right not to give these products away.

4. When you win, we would like for you to send us a picture of you with the knife, but you aren't obligated to do so. We'd just like to see the person we helped out, and post your picture on our site. Again, if you don't want to, you don't have to.

5. If, for any reason, we can not get in contact with you, we reserve the right to award the prize to an alternate person. Sorry.

6. Prize winners are chosen at random on or around midnight of the last day of the month. Each month, a random number is generated for each member of the forum. Members are asked to provide a random number at midnight, at which time the numbers provided are compared to the corresponding numbers assigned to each member. If the number provided belongs to a member that is ineligable (has not posted at least once, etc), the next number is used until a winner is chosen. Pretty simple, right?

Free stuff for Crayol...

O.k.! Other than items that would help me and only me out:

I'd love to see more tutorials/articles. Heck, I'd love to write some and submit them to you knuts. Lets build a real knowledge base here with tons of articles and information. Most posts keep everyone up to date and satisfy small questions. Others, like some of the talonite posts, are long arguments that shed much light on our blessed hobby/affliction. More articles would be fantastic. I'd be willing to help in whatever ways I could with this.

It sound like an excellent opportunity to revive our To The Point magazine. Mike put together two issues last year before it failed from a lack of subscriber interest. Perhaps we will be able to find enough volunteers to make a comeback (as a Bladeforums freebie) worthwhile.

The first two issues took up too much of Mike's time last year. Before we table this one we are going to need volunteers to edit and produce the documents in addition to whomever is actually contributing segments.

Add a counter in the area on the left of each post. Start the counter at #1 for the first post in each thread. Second post would be #2 and so on. Then we can describe a specific post quickly and easily. For example the Talonite thread, post #301.

Take care,
bug

Mike,

I really enjoy visiting here. I have nothing to add which hasn't already been said.

I would like to thank all of you the time and energy you put into this forum.

Other then sending us all FREE KNIVES

You could start an "SLI" Forum.

The only thing I can think of is make the homepage easier to navigate. I have sent several friends a link to BF. I have had many tell me that they were confused about how to get on the forums. Something easier to navigate from the homepage would be nice.
