wow , i come back to the computer after spending the day xmas shopping spending the millions of dollars i have made as a " dealer " :confused: LOL!!! according to phil in brooklyn realy guys come on i have proven in my many dealings that i am willing to work with the forumites who have only a few factory knives in their collection in fact i traded with several taking what little cash they had and factory knives putting them into the first custom they have owned !!! i look mdown on no one cept those whose word means nothing like the self confessed "weasel" look back in his prior post he called himself that wolfman 601 ira not to be confused with wulf who i trust to be a good guy ira backed out of not 1 but 3 deals si i must put a seller beware on him he says the knives in question were not listed for sale that matters not especially since he has been bugging me daily abvout the duncan he said it was a done deal he kept giving me a song and dance about only having 300 i told him send the 300 i would send the knife and he could pay me the other hundred in 30days then i said whenever after he cried about not knowing about if he would have the 100 within the time period then he tells me to stick it up my ass not nice i told him i will never deal with him unless he begs forgiveness and loses so much money on the deal that i can laugh at his sorry self !!!! as for phil and his response about spark making me bullet proof please i respect spark because he has a mind of his own and wont bow down to whiney cry babys like you phil you are 100% right you do not ever have to deal with my likes but remember if you imply that i am less than honest or impune my integrity you will hear from my lawyer ;) this i promise you !!!:p for you to imply that i am anything less than above board and 100% honest i will consider that a threat to my good charachter you have no basis for your statements so you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself :D as to the statement that ishay made come on now that is the most retardedthing i have heard in some time i make people i have not dealt with post up positives about me on gbu what next i pay for positive post??/:eek: that is crap plain and simple my thing is the gbu was put in place to be used to let the forumites know who is good and who is not it realy bothers those like phil and ishay to know i am good in fact i notice when someone post something like watch out for jaxurman , hundreds more read it hoping to hear i did wrong instead dissappointed to open it to see cause you will get a fair deal or the likes jealous haters the world is full of them none of my post are attacks just my reply to all the foolish nonsense about me thanx mike dye for clearing up the nonsense it has been discussed i hate being the oj simson on bladeforums i have been found not guilty of being a dealer yet there are those out there who are not satisfied with the verdict after all i have proven myself to be an honorable individual here at bladeforums helping out the new guys and trying to school those who ask for my knowledge treating those i deal with as i wish to be treated myself with dignity and respect i apologize to mike dye for refering to him as balless i am a man and will apologize when wrong i will defend my word and my honor when attacked or falsely labeled as being a dealer when in fact i am not thanx jaxurman

There are no hard and fast rules on what *does not* make you a dealer, but there are a few that land you quite into the dealer category.

If you have a Sales Tax ID / Certificate of Resale with knives being part of your business, you are a dealer.

If you are buying knives or related products at wholesale prices, and are reselling them, you are a dealer. Obviously you'd want to sell them at a profit, but quite a few in the past have done this just to "trade up" to get knives they couldn't buy through distribution.

If you purchase knives with the express purpose of reselling them at a later date, you just might be a dealer.

If you post a knife for sale, and you direct people to your website where you just happen to be selling tons of other brand NIB knives fresh from the manufacturer / maker, you just might be a dealer.

If you set up at shows with tables regularly, you just might be a dealer, peddler, or purveyor.

Jaxurman has told me repeatedly that he's just got more money than he knows what to do with and as a result, has about $100K in knives in his possession at any given time. While highly unusual, it does not a dealer make. Knifenutitus maybe, but not a dealer. Granted, I would like to see an end to the "jaxurman is great" threads we see every 2 minutes.... so please, Jack, chill with that a bit.

Feel free to add your own qualifiers - but until there's a pattern, it's difficult for me to come down hard on anyone with a great explanation.

Start a poll. Let the members decide. "Is Jaxurman a dealer?" If the masses say yes, then he pays the extra dough or a limit is placed on the number of knives he can have for sale at any one time. If they say no, then business as usual. Voting with the results visible for all. Sounds simple enough. And no more threads like this.
 
we will make you president of the haters club it has already been established that i am not a dealer where have you been?? read sparks post or is what spark says not good enough for you either?? tell you what since you want to run things i will tell you what i told the waitresses that worked for me and my dad at our restaurant you want to run things then you pay me 2 million and you run it your way mabe i will work for you have some respect for spark !!! he said it has been established that i am not a dealer is that not good enough for you ??? my suggestion is for you to contact spark privately and discuss you buying bladeforums although it probabkly is not for sale , certainly if you throw enough money at spark it could be yours then you could set policy and run things instead of just running off your mouth !!!! hows that ??? jaxurman
 
Geez, I wish I had a an extra $100k to blow on knives ;) Man, I'm thinking if a guy's got more money than he knows what to do with, then why not just buy a dealer membership - the cost of the dealer membership relative to a $100k collection is pretty small. ;) Plus that money goes to help support the forums, right?

The poll could be to your benefit, Jax. Since you have had so many good dealings with others on the forums, they should all vote in your favor. I thought most who posted here believed in a democratic method, anyway. Don't think I could buy Bladeforums or 100K worth of knives, my daddy doesn't have alot of money. But, if you could hook me up with a cute waitress...:D ;)
 
has nothing to do with me being a dealer or not I AM NOT A DEALER !!!! as to me having more money than i know what to do with that is not accurate there are people out there saying i should pay to be a dealer who are not even gold members go figure whats next should jaxurman pay for all the basic members to be gold members ??? if i had all this money i guess i should have been able to get a digital camera by now ??? right :confused:
 
:( you can say anything you like about me but please leave my father out of this he passed away 2 months ago and meant more to me than anyone or anything he battled cancer bravely for 13 years i cry daily thinking of him i slept in the same king size bed for 18 months with him instead of any other 4 bedrooms that were empty often helping him 3x a night to change the sweat soaked t shirt and pajama top from his cancer my dad did a lot for me but i made my money on my own thru hard work and smart investing so i resent the implication that i am some spoiled brat !!!! as for a poll i am so glad you have nothing better to do with your time you are right i have had all positive dealings so what every time someone thinks a guy is a dealer they have a poll get real !!!! spark has spoken its too bad you cannot respect his decision instead questioning his judgement it has been established that i am not a dealer for the umpteenth time who are you that i or spark need to prove anything to ??? think about that jaxurman

The volume of knives you seem to move is just mind boggling. But, just 'cause one guy trades more than the rest doesn't make him a dealer, just a very active collector.

you are 100% correct i am am an active collector IF i make any money on a deal guess what it usually goes back to the forums cause im usually buying another knife think of it this way guys shell out money to advertise knives for sale and trade if guys like me did not want to buy or trade why would anybody want to go to bladeforums ?? at least to the exchange besides i go for the more expensive stuff thats the toughest to sell when i buy a guys knife lots of tinmes he like me already has the money spent on a deal with another forumite think about it if more guys understood they woukld like me not hate me thanx jaxurman
 
Jack, for the RECORD.....The two deals PRIOR, I CHANGED MY MIND within an hour. I had found some cash and ran to the Custom knives for sale. I saw, as always, JAXURMAN had lots of knives. I asked about a knife, you said "Yes", I said "how much", you said "$XXX". I said 'OK". Then within MINUTES, another E-mail arrived WITH A BETTER DEAL. Jack, I E-mailed you Immediately and said "I CHANGED MY MIND" I am allowed to do that, am I NOT?
Deal two, a Pierlla. Same EXACT set of circumstances. The knife in question for me to TRADE was one of my CARSON #4 Large hunters. YUP, someone ELSE gave me a BETTER offer. You got a RAPID E-mail, that I CHANGED MY MIND. In the above instances, you NEVER had to even post "deal pending".
Deal three. I send you an E-mail AFTER I saw you bought a Duncan Whiplash for $350.00. I ASKED YOU if you were interested at SOME point in seling. You said "yes". AT NO POINT WAS THIS KNIFE EVER POSTED FOR SALE. During the several weeks, I told you MANY times HOW BADLY I wanted that knife, did I NOT. You cry of your Dad's Death? You have my condolences, losing a father is TRAGIC, BUT do you HONESTLY believe YOU are the ONLY person on EARTH entitled to use PERSONAL problems as a LEGITIMATE excuse? DID I NOT inform you of my Son's Roll-over????? Did I not inform you of undergoing my 41ST SURGERY? Did I not tell you that I WANT THAT KNIFE, BUT I have only $300.00 towrds it in my "knife-fund" and when I had ALL the money, it was yours. DID YOU NOT SEND ME E-MAILS DAILY PRESSURING ME? Did you NOT tell me in order to "save face" "get back my good name", "save myself from YOU posting in GB&U that I am a punk" I best send you the $300 NOW and the other $100 in 30 days? Now, this whole issue has to do with a BUZZ word. IT shall always haunt you. If you "wheel and deal" as you wheel and deal, your LOVE for knives, that I KNOW is DEEP gets overshawdowed by your "car salesman like approach"

Personally I don't care if Jack is a dealer or not. Spark has said that he accepts Jacks explanation as to why he is so active in the knife trading and selling forums and that is good enough for me. If someone can prove that Jack is a dealer then send the proof to Spark. If not, we should really get off of this much rehashed topic.

One thing that does bother me though Jack, is that you do seem to spend an awful lot of time patting yourself on the back. You may well be this fantastic person you keep telling everyone you are, but it sure be nice if you would stop pointing out in so many of your posts how cool and big a player you are. In the grand scheme of things, your being someone who goes through a lot of knives doesn't amount to a hill of beans.

As to how much you mean to these forums, the fact that you trade or sell a lot of knives does not really do much for these forums at all. I do not recall you sharing your knowledge about all these knives that you have had with the other members of Bladeforums. I have not seen even one post from you in the regular forums passing on the great amount of knowledge that you should have gained about knives through all your wheeling and dealing. You have posted only in the exchange forums, and Wine & Cheese when someone there has posted something about you. If you want to continue participating in the way you do, that is fine, but stop making it sound like you are so great for these forums. Spark has said that the exchange forums are not what Bladeforums is really about. He has stated that it is the regular forums, where information is distributed, that are the most important part of Bladeforums and in those you don't take part at all.

I wish you the best with all your buying, selling and trading, but I do wish you would get off your high horse and come down and play with us mere mortals.
