For the absolutely worst hamburger ever go to...

I like Big Kahuna Burger...that's that Har-waiin place. They make a great breakfast burger...or so says Jules Winnfield and Brad.

FYI for you Hardees and Carl's Jr. fans, they're both owned by the same company, although their menus are different - for now. It seems that a number of underperforming Hardees are being converted to Carl's Jr.

The only reason I know this is that I grew up going to Hardees in NC and GA, then when I moved out to CA I noticed that Carl's Jr. used the same 'smiling star' on their signs...

I just can't eat at BK/McD's anymore without getting sick - the grease smell alone makes me want to :barf:

I pretty much limit my fast-food burgers to In-N-Out Burger (although occasionally a Carl's Jr. Bacon Western is pretty good...). I might go to a Wendy's when I want a chicken sandwich (or Chick Fil A, too bad there aren't any here :( ). Oh and when I'm in TX on business I'll make a run to the local Whataburger :)

Buffalo burgers are great, very lean.
Burger King sucks, I can't even eat there anymore.
In Eastern Washington best burgers: Zips, Dick's
If you're in an unfamiliar locale at lunch or dinnertime look for cop cars parked at a place. Usually the best burgers.

You folks need to move to Virginia. Our fountain has been making burgers for 70 years. I challenge anyone to have fresher beef. The beef for our burgers (and our home-made hotdog chili and deep fried steak and cheese subs) is from a small local business. They raise the grain fed beef themselves. It is fresh butchered, ground or sliced, and then makes the 1.2 mile trip to the fountain. Fresh....yeah! BTW, we use real ice cream in our shakes and sundaes. Yum, Yum! After eating here for nigh on 45 years, can y'all guess why I am 250 lbs?

Mike's right, one of the best burgers around is about 10' away from the knife store :) man it's hard putting knives in displays when they are cooking....

Esav, the inspiration for Belushi's skit was the infamous Billy Goat tavern in Chicago. It really is like that! Decent greazy cheezborgers too.
I love places like that. Jersey is full of them. We have a hotdog joint like the "chizborger" place, called Rutt's Hutt. Deep-fried hotdogs (we call 'em rippers) with spicy mustard and their homemade relish. Yum.

Thanks for the Col. Angus review... I was almost interested in trying BK again. Thanks for warding me away from their t.u.r.d.burger! Wendy's is okay though. I did get sick from a Wendy's burger (Lake & Chicago, Minneapolis) once :(

Round Robin is a good "sit down" Burger chain. I wish we had Fatburger or In & Out out here. We are seeing some Checker's, they aren't half bad.
If you're ever stuck in north new Jersey, I urge you to drive along route 3 and route 46, and try: The Red Chimney and the Anthony Wayne (named after General 'Mad' Anthony Wayne) char-broil. Good burgers at good prices.

My firehouse is less than 1/4 mile from Rutt's. It's in our first response area. I was there not more than an hour ago. We were riding by and decided to have lunch as we were out doing pre-plans. I had a "Ripper" all the way and a bowl of chili with buttered rye on the side. On Wednseday nights my dad brings his 1935 Ford model A pickup to the car show they have there. We usually set up and have a few cheeseburgers with gravy and a side of fries with chili.

One place better is The Hot Grill. It was only 3 blocks from my old home.

"One Frenchy, one!"

Don't forget The Hearth on 46 West in Clifton.

There's a local chain in SF, Mel's, that has a pretty nasty burger. They filmed some of the scenes from "American Graffitti" in one of the Mel's. Anyway, if you take what I want in a burger (big, hot, juicy, fresh), their's are just about the opposite. Often, at least one of the ingredients will be downright stale. I often feel guilty when I see unsuspecting tourists walking into Mel's. If you're a local you've got no excuse to eat there.

Worst I have had besides the normal tasteless fast food burgers was a burger at some snooty restaurant in Seattle. It came with guacamole on it!

Worked in BK for 14 months, went from 185lbs to 200lbs and was hitting the gym daily to avoid going over that even.

I won't touch BK even if you paid me, I only eat the chicken at McD's, Wendy's is a heart attack in a bag(as it A&W)... I eat at Arby's and Quiznos if I want fast food...

but then again I'm just as likely to go into a 4 start resturaunt and order a full caesar salad as I am to order a 20oz new york medium well.

Ah the joys of healthy living. I haven't been above 175lbs for over a year, holding at 160lbs for about 2 months now. If I stand up straight I can fit inot 30" jeans, slouching I fit 32's... still about 3-4% bodyfat on my 6'0 frame.

Man, I somehow forgot about a local burger stand called "Skip's". They serve thick milkshakes and curly q french fries too. Very good  The wait can be about 10-15 minutes though, so it's not really fast food.

Wendys or Red Robin are the places to go, Burger king just about beats McD.

P.S Who was Popyes friend who always ate burgers? they looked scrummy, pies in cartoons also look really tasty.

are from the the little hole-in-the-wall mini chains like Paul's, Duke's, Boy's, Bill's, etc. As good as In-N-Out but with better fries. Plus you get to order things like the Pastrami Burger. MMmmm, pastrami.

Hamburgers. The cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast.

Ever in Houston, try Fudruckers. Nice Big Ass burgers. As for Wendy's, I've eaten at four different locations. 3 in Houston and one in Galveston and they're all grease burgers. The bag has grease prints. The wrapper is smeared with grease on the outside. When you take a bite, grease drips out the other end. :barf:

There's a Fuddrucker's here in Tucson too. Great burgers. I like the self service condiments so you don't 8 gallons of mustard on it whether you asked for it or not.

In my opinion Hardees now has the best fast food burger, I did note that about Carl's Jr. and tried that place when I was in El Paso but although they have the same parent company they aren't even close to Hardees. Next is Burger King with the whopper, the only thing Macdonalds has going for it is the "Big" Mac but sadly the "Big" Mac is a wimpy sandwich. I'll have to find that Hamburger Heaven place...

Where in Eastern Wa? Spokane?

Best burgers in my spot of Southeastern Washington is Wendys, Jack In The Box, or my favorite, a local old fashioned burger joint called 'Majors'. red Robin does burgers right as well, but it is a sit down nine dollar affair.

Wish we had Carl's Jr. closer, or even an In 'n Out.

Thanks for not informing us, Gollnick! Now I don't have droll running down my mouth and I don't have a hunger deep in the pit of my stomach that can only be solved by wolfing down a big ol' burger, onion rings, and a big shake. That was downright decent of ya to not torture us all like that!!

Your welcome. Oh, and notice that I did not post the Burgerville Website URL so as not to tempt you to look and see all the great food and read about the fresh milkshakes (It's Huckleberry next month).
