Mike's right, one of the best burgers around is about 10' away from the knife storeMichael Dye said:You folks need to move to Virginia. Our fountain has been making burgers for 70 years. I challenge anyone to have fresher beef. The beef for our burgers (and our home-made hotdog chili and deep fried steak and cheese subs) is from a small local business. They raise the grain fed beef themselves. It is fresh butchered, ground or sliced, and then makes the 1.2 mile trip to the fountain. Fresh....yeah! BTW, we use real ice cream in our shakes and sundaes. Yum, Yum! After eating here for nigh on 45 years, can y'all guess why I am 250 lbs?

I love places like that. Jersey is full of them. We have a hotdog joint like the "chizborger" place, called Rutt's Hutt. Deep-fried hotdogs (we call 'em rippers) with spicy mustard and their homemade relish. Yum.Mongo said:Esav, the inspiration for Belushi's skit was the infamous Billy Goat tavern in Chicago. It really is like that! Decent greazy cheezborgers too.
My firehouse is less than 1/4 mile from Rutt's. It's in our first response area. I was there not more than an hour ago. We were riding by and decided to have lunch as we were out doing pre-plans. I had a "Ripper" all the way and a bowl of chili with buttered rye on the side. On Wednseday nights my dad brings his 1935 Ford model A pickup to the car show they have there. We usually set up and have a few cheeseburgers with gravy and a side of fries with chili.Mr.BadExample said:I love places like that. Jersey is full of them. Don't forget The Hearth on 46 West in Clifton.Mr.BadExample said:If you're ever stuck in north new Jersey, I urge you to drive along route 3 and route 46, and try: The Red Chimney and the Anthony Wayne (named after General 'Mad' Anthony Wayne) char-broil. Good burgers at good prices.
Definitely.ivan_yulaev said:In-n-out has gotta be the best burger though.

Burger King sucks, I can't even eat there anymore.
In Eastern Washington best burgers: Zips, Dick's
If you're in an unfamiliar locale at lunch or dinnertime look for cop cars parked at a place. Usually the best burgers.
Thanks for not informing us, Gollnick! Now I don't have droll running down my mouth and I don't have a hunger deep in the pit of my stomach that can only be solved by wolfing down a big ol' burger, onion rings, and a big shake. That was downright decent of ya to not torture us all like that!!
