Formal Occasions and what- or IF- you carry

You're not carrying a sidearm to a wedding???
That might be the best place to have one!
At least stuff a Seecamp LWS 32 in your pocket...
It’s one of the only times I don’t carry.

I need to get myself a mouse gun - my EDC is a Glock 27 which is a little too chunky for suit wear…

Right - knife next to the bed, plastic knife sitting on a shelf in the shower, scissors on a plane. :D

Before I had kids, I always kept a revolver in the top drawer of my night stand. Now I have to make it all the way across the room to the closet safe in case of trouble.

I do have a folding knife in the top drawer of the night stand. I don't count that as carrying though. No shower knife either. I have a few non-bladed multi-tools. I'll try one next time I fly.

Whether a wedding, funeral, or regular church service; I'm carrying a gun. It's part of my EDC and a matter of general preparedness. If a person can't carry a gun, I'd rather see defensive needs met by a small fixed blade or even extra training with bare hands over a folding knife.

From what the OP posted I would go with the fixed blade. Some other great choices here as well. I echo the idea of a Mnandi, or even a Sebenza being nice choices. I also like the idea of a small traditional, including the Lionsteel modern/traditional hybrid offerings. I think a small silver Alox SAK would be a class option too, perhaps even just the Vic money clip.

I once owned this as my formal occasion knife, but eventually sold it because...well, because I didn't attend enough formal occasions (pretty much none) to justify keeping it.
