It penetrates about as far as other big choppers, as you'd expect...

I have lots of sawmill offcuts to split into kindling. It's eucalyptus (hardwood).

Including some knotty pieces, required a lot of heavy pounding with the baton to get the knife through

The wooden stake I was using as a baton was taking some damage from the swedge

Worked just fine...

Moving on to some tougher stuff, knotty sections of some small logs

I had to really pound it to get it through

Chopped both logs into pieces but had to stop when the baton broke into four pieces

No edge damage at all

Cut paper just fine afterwards. The cuts were a bit rough because I was cutting with the part of the edge where I'd been chopping, which was still covered with bits of wood

I noticed the logo looked a bit unusual (can kind of see it in my last pic). Sure enough, did a close-up picture, and I have a shadowed logo. Seems extra rough to the touch too. But looks kind of cool.
