I really expected this blade to be higher than the dagger in overall percent purchased. The dagger actually beat this so far. Still early though.

I hate to be the one to inform you brother HOG, but so far your polls do not relate nor do they correspond with any part of the reality of what is actually happening!:confused:o_O

They are fun though. . .

Let's Drink!

Jerry :D

I'm going to have to change my answer from "on the fence" to "pass." I've already blown my Busse budget for the year, and I don't want a FM enough to cancel any of my existing orders.

I wish I had a scale handy , they are pretty close .

The DS6 is more blade heavy , very similar blade to the reg TGM.

The TGLBM is very well balanced, floats in your hand with a balance point just a hair forward of the first tube fastener. That little blade has a grind that rivals my basic 6 .. cuts like a razor.

I’ll post the weights of these two when I come across a scale.
L63 that ResC work is actually even LIGHTER than the light brigade treatment on LB knives. At least when making comparisons to blades that are similar lengths and thicknesses, like the TGLB and Basic8LE. At what is sometimes a better price tag but same warranty. Which is one place my growing love for ResC blades is founded. :):thumbsup:

The problem is, in my opinion anyways, and as mentioned above, is we have so few LB treated knives of which to compare to the vast array of ResC knives available!

A fourth LB model that just hit me is the TGMLB. I think most of us would consider it separate from the full sized TGLB? Anyways, there are a few of them out there, but they were only available at shows and such I believe so are rare and hard to come by. I think Zombieassassin might have had one for sale awhile back on the X. I would love to compare that blade to the DS6!!! But my guess is the DS is lighter! ;) I would also love LOVE ❤️ to see how they compared in a stress test to failure! But I wouldn’t make any guesses on how that would turn out! :)

You are the man sir thank you! I was so hoping a lucky HOG would jump in here who had both! Thanks for the pic and looking forward to your weights post!

There are models <even from Busse Combat Co.> that don't always melt your butter....I get it.

But frankly I'm gobsmacked that any Top Hog can emphatically "Pass" on this amazing offering out of Wauseon. This model has some serious bloodlines. The sheer scale alone is epic. Get real-- this is the War and Peace of knives!

I'm gonna have to move some steel <some INFI, at that> to make room for my FM's. But I was determined I'm not gonna be the "NO REGRETS" guy who may be sitting on the sidelines regretting not dropping the hammer on this offering when they start shipping and showing up in threads in a couple weeks.;)

If you could restrain yourself from buying this one and you truly convinced yourself you don't need a Nuked Forsaken Mistress...well...you're a better man than me, Charlie Brown. :)

There is something about the length and the thickness and shape that just did it for me on this knife. 12 inches is long, and it would be awesome if this came in an 8-inch version, although it is a mistress and so it is long. Looking back at the SK Vs the FM, I would rather have a FM. I will get to compare, and we will see what gets kept vs let go. I agree with PT2.1 on the epic-ness of this blade.

There are a lot more practical/edc blades that have come out, and I think this is the most impressive blade of all the OP2W's so far...just from a pure "now this is a Busse Knife, knife"...

As for the poll- yea, it's the forum participants and only a small sample- I have been active on another forum for almost 5 years with another hobby. Members active probably less than 1000 but a very active forum. The market segment of a recent event was over 5000 participants. I've always thought the guess on numbers based on my little time here are substantially low just having a feel for the basic economics of it-

As for the knife- I had room for a bigger chopper, I have the DTBM but I really liked following along in the BG MOAB thread- But now I will have a tool to go do those things which I didn't before. What a knife! And I'm glad it's not some .410 thick hunk of gym equipment :D - Once all these jewels show up I will have what it takes to go build a cabin in the woods if I had to- Guess I could use that prepper thing as an excuse :p

I think the G10 has multicolor options and some shaping that the micarta doesnt get, but regardless I appreciate the pricing because the G10 looks an feels like an upgrade so it makes sense to charge it as such. If it wasnt, everyone would be going for the free multicolored G10. This way they incentivise the somewhat plainer option of micarta.
I can' say for sure about all Busse's in general but the micarta and g10 scales on the TGLB's I had were not shaped any differently. If they were the same price I'd still go with black canvas on most of my orders. On rare occasions I've gone with g10 just because I thought it would just look right with a particular blade.

No doubt that there are more than what is on the forum no way to guess really but I could 2 ro 3 times the number listed on the forum. But that is a guess since Busse wont tell us numbers per run

Sure would be cool to know #'s on limited offerings like the Nuke FMV8 and Nuke FM though.

True, that would be nice. However, polls good ones anyway, tend to be very representative of how people vote. So lets say that there are 1000 Busse fans out there, 200 of which only hangout in the forum. Then the % above would generally apply to that. So the numbers may be higher, but the percentage would be the same, so I stand by my sensus that this knife is being outdone by the V8 unless someone cares to show hard numbers for both. ;)

Hey Bossman Jerry Busse Jerry Busse , come prove Cobalt wrong! ;) :p

I believe there's some truth to that because the other aspect that becomes a benchmark is price point. I stalled out on the FM because of that but I let myself fall in after looking at that CF about 50 times and fell in love with it and just imagining it laying beside my Burp, SK and FMV8, it's kind of like a set and it seduced me with little resistance. If these had came up 6 months ago in the beginning of OP2W? no way I'd be in, I wasn't there yet with those price points but I don't think fresh meat amounts to a whole lot because there's a whole lot of fat hogs way at the other end of the barn to gobble up whatever comes along. I'm just happy to grab a bite here and there.

I got one-comp with black canvas. I think this is the first time I've gotten canvas handles since my very first Busse but I'm tired of being bent over the table for G-10.
I didn't get one this time, But the extras put it out of my mind. Last time I didn't get g10 was original infidu. I bought black canvas...and orange and black g10...and green and black g10.

I ordered one, the CF. I had a nuclear in the cart but honestly couldn't keep it. It's been so long since I have had good $ I thought it prudent to get the middle ground. I may order 1 more after I get taxes back next week though.
