Comp with black G10 for me....
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
One of the Busse's that I sold years ago and still regret (yep regrets I have a few but then again to few to mention ...........) is the old Military Overrun Bowie tipped FBM, man I loved that blade. If you ever see one come up for sale they are well above what these are going for.
For me it was an easy choice to get this one, its like a MO FBM that you can get any way you like and its over 12" long
I can not wait.
Congrats to all who scored
Those that passed............its not too late but it is getting later![]()
...
Still kicking my self for not getting Busse credit on black Friday, but that' another story.
Have many blades have been offered with LB treatment? Are there more than just this and the TGLB?
What else had the light brigade treatment you ol HOGS? Is this only the 3rd Busse to ever offer LB treatment?
Without looking, I think that's correct.
I've done it and it works well for flat spined choppers like the BB13 or NMFBM, but it does require more attention to where you move that arm in between cuts.Makes sense. I was kinda hoping you intended to skin and process rabbits or similar with it, would be cool to see.
I've seen there's a technique where you tie a loop of cord to the handle of a large knife and hang that around your upper forearm, then use your hand to hold the blade near the tip. Lets you handle a large knife like it's a small knife. Never seen anyone do it though.
I'm tired of being bent over the table for G-10.
I tried for 10 minutes to get a nuked with smoothed black g10 but the site kept freezing. That is ok since I probably wouldn't use it in so-cal. 6-8 inches is about my sweet spot anyway.
One might argue that the work being done on the HOGB8 could be considered the LB treatment for Res-C ?Without looking, I think that's correct.
Think most are, have been told by custom makers they don't understand why Busse charges so much for g10 as its not much more expensive than micarta and easier to machine. Can see being charged something extra, but on some of these models being around $100 just for g10 is nuts.
